ALISON POV
“Aly, wake up!”
“Aly…!"
“You’re going to be late again!”
“ALISONNN!”
My mom’s voice echoed from downstairs, jolting me out of my sleep. I groaned and rolled over, burying my face in the pillow.
“Ugh, Mom!” I muttered, sitting up with frustration.
“Yes, I’m up! Can you please stop shouting?”
Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I glanced at the clock on my bedside table.
8:30 AM.
“Shoot, she’s right! I’m going to be late for work! I need to be in Mr. Raichand’s office by 9:00 AM, with his coffee in hand.”
I got out of bed and rushed to the bathroom. After a quick shower, I threw on a simple green dress, hoping it was presentable enough.
There was no time for breakfast, so I hurried downstairs to say goodbye to Mom and kissed her cheeks before leaving .
"Have a good day dear " she said kissing me back I smiled at her as I headed out to my car.
Well we are not Millionaires but we live a pretty good life and This car was gift from my dad before he passed away, so this is my favorite car.
Starting the engine, I drove straight to The John's Café, my usual stop for Mr. Raichand’s coffee.
The café was always buzzing with people, drawn by its reputation for having the best brews in town.
As I walked in, the familiar scent of coffee beans and freshly baked pastries hit me.
The usual crowd was there, but I was too focused on my turn to order.
“Good morning, Sid,” I greeted the café owner as I reached the counter.
“Morning, beautiful!” he replied with a charming grin.
“Your usual? Black coffee, no sugar?”
I nodded, offering him a quick smile.
Sid was a bit of a local celebrity—handsome, wealthy, and the owner of the café that everyone loved.
Yet, despite all the attention he got, he chose to work behind the counter like any other employee.
“He’s such a humble guy…” I thought to myself as I collected my order.
“See you later, Sid!” I said, dashing out the door.
With the coffee in hand, I headed across the street to Raichand Towers.
Parking my car, I checked the time—8:55 AM.
“Great, just what I need…” I muttered, my anxiety kicking in as I rushed into the building.
I hurried to the elevator, hitting the button for the 55th floor. As the elevator crawled upwards, my nerves began to fray.
“Not the right time to panic, Alison,” I whispered to myself, trying to steady my breathing.
Finally, the doors opened, and I darted out. I had exactly one minute left. I dashed down the hallway to Mr. Raichand’s office and knocked twice on the door.
No response.
I hesitated, then slowly peeked inside.
The room was empty. Relief washed over me as I quickly placed the coffee on his desk and slipped out.
As I stepped into the hallway, I bumped into Rose, one of my colleagues. I gave her a quick smile and headed to my own office.
Collapsing into my chair, I let out a long breath.
“How did I end up in this mess?” I wondered, staring blankly at my desk.
When I first got this job, I thought it would be exciting. Working at Raichand Towers seemed like a dream come true. But being under Mr. Raichand’s constant watch? That was a whole different story.
I shivered as memories of our first meeting flashed through my mind.
To be continued...
