Chapter 1: Meeting the Nerd

Chapter 1

I am Therese Nasi Albino. I am adored by many because of my flawlessly beautiful face. I am rich, I am smart. I have a long list of suitors. I've been courted by some famous models and celebrities but unfortunately, my heart doesn't beat for them. It only beats for John Matthial Peñaverde, the famous, clumsiest, bullied nerd in our school.  He is smart, kind and that's it.

OH DEAR LORD, WHY HIM?

*KRIIING KRIIING KRIIING*

"Fudge! Give me five more minutes!"

I groaned and quickly grabbed my alarm clock from my side table and throw it away somewhere.

I tried to sleep again but I can't na talaga. Bumangon nalang ako at naligo since I don't have any choice. Pagkatapos kong maligo, I dried myself at sinuot agad ang school uniform ng Aristocracy Academy. Humarap ako sa salamin to see my final look.

"Done."

Lumabas na ako ng kwarto at tinawag si Mang Ramil upang ihatid ako sa school.

"Mang Ramiiiil! Punta na po ako ng school. Ihatid niyo na po ako."

Agad tumakbo si Mang Ramil papuntang garahe. Lumabas na ako ng bahay at naghintay.

*beep beep*

Napalingon ako sa paparating na kotse. Huminto ito sa harap ko at lumabas si Mang Ramil galing sa driver's seat. Pinagbuksan niya ako ng pinto kaya pumasok na ako sa loob.

After 15 minutes, nakarating na kami sa Aristocracy Academy.

"Ingat po kayo Ma'am." nakangiting sabi ni Mang Ramil sa akin. Kahit apat na ngipin lang ang nakikita ko, sinuklian ko din ito ng isang ngiti. Bumaba na ako ng kotse na parang isang artista.

Dito sa school, we are divided into three divisions. The Aristos, The Mesos, and The Licgans.

Aristos. Mga elites, mga super mayayaman ang mga nandito, high-class. And I belong to this division.

Mesos. The mid-class students. Mayaman but hindi ganon kayaman.

Licgans. Commoners. Other term, scholars. Mostly nandito sa division na ito ang mga nerds. Study geeks.

Obviously, there is no equality in this school. Bullying is never prohibited. The school administration really don't care about the Licgans being bullied. They think they deserved it. They are accepted by this elite academy with no tuition fee and they should pay for it by being bullied. How cool is that? Many geeks have dropped out but many stood still.

"BOO!"

"What the!" bigla akong napatayo sa gulat.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You should've seen your face Therese hahahahahaha"

Our clasroom was filled with laughter that annoys me a lot.

"What is your problem, Quinn?" gigil kong tanong sa kanya. This guy. I really hate his guts.

"Hahahahaha nothing! Gusto ko lang makita kung gaano kapanget ang mukha mo pag nagugulat."

Umupo siya sa tabi ko habang tumatawa parin. Tss. Unluckily, he is my seatmate at araw-araw akong bwisit dahil sa lalaking 'to!

"Tss. Jerk."

Tumingin nalang ako sa labas ng bintana. I saw many students out there - giggling, laughing, talking, walking, running and bullying. Psh. Habang nakatingin lang ako sa mga estudyanteng dumadaan, may napansin akong nerd na tumatakbo at may dala-dalang mga libro. Dahil sa bilis niyang tumakbo, nadapa siya.
