Killing someone was easy. It was cleaning the sword afterward that was difficult. Looking at your own reflection as you wipe the blood away. Realizing you were a monster. I used to go crazy at night thinking about their faces. But that effect wore away about a few years ago. " Kim," My trainer Mr.Green called from outside my door. "We have another mission for tonight. Will you be ready?" Even if i wasn't i would be forced to go anyway. So i simply said, "Yea." To end the conversation quick. I wasn't good with talking to people. I didn't care to talk to them anyway.

"Well," Mr.Green continued "We need someone to run to the store. Ever isn't here to do so." With a heavy sigh, I dropped my sword on the bed. There was No saying no to these people. Storming out of my room, I snatched the list from his hands. "Make it quick, I am quite hungry." I heard him call when i was already out the door.

The market was plain. A few people stood around selling fruit from their carts others sold meat. Coming here was usually the last thing on my list. I walked over to a Fruit stand, picking up an apple. It was a perfect bright red. Like blood. I thought, then put it down.

"Watch out!" I heard someone scream from behind me. A cart had lost control, and was coming straight for me. A guy was dangling off the back trying to stop it. "Move!" He yelled, waving his arms all over the place. Jumping out of the way it crashed into the apple stand.

I didn't know what to do. The Brown haired boy was just laying on the ground. Finally deciding to rush over, I poked him in the neck. "Ow." He coughed, Rubbing his head. "why did you poke me?" I had to think for a moment, then said,"To see if you were alive." He laughed a little. But i wasn't joking. "Sorry for almost killing you,"  He sat up, brushing off pieces of broken wood from his already dirty white shirt. "I'm not really good at this 'cart' business."

"Its fine." I stood up, walking away. That was enough talking for the day.

"Wait," He called after me, standing up he did a quick shake off and ran my way. "I've never seen you before." My black hair, and pale skin was pretty hard to miss. He pointed at what was left at the apple stand. "You looked like you actually wanted one."

Glancing down at my list i said, "Well it was the first thing on my list."

He laughed again, Showing his perfect teeth. "Well," He rubbed the back of his head "I have an apple tree by my house. You could come pick some. I have a basket you can have and everything."

I was silent for a moment. Why was he inviting me to his house? If he knew that i was a killer i bet he would think twice about that invitation. A man started fixing the apple stand that was broken. "Was that your apple stand?" I asked. He nodded, "Yea, i will most likely have to build another one later but its ok." He raised an eyebrow. "So, Want to come?" I bit my lip. What would Green think if i was late. I was never late. Not even on missions. Well, i never had nothing to do to make me late.

His green eyes were so hopeful. For some reason i felt pity for him. He was being so nice to me and he didn't even know my name.

I forced a tiny smile and nodded.

"Yes!" His fist shot in the air, He must not have meant to do that because he stuck his hand in his pocket, blushing lightly. "Um, We should go now before it gets dark."

His tree was on a hilltop. Overlooking the entire town. The tree was an enchanting green. The apples were a beautiful rose red, and plump. I had never even seen this place. Right behind it was the woods i had known pretty well. If you followed the path to the end you would find My bosses mansion. But not many people ventured to the end because of the scary stories people spread about the woods. It was a bullshit.

"ok.." He said, rolling up his sleeves. "How many do we need.?"

"24." I replied, looking down at my list. "I could help you get some, I'm not as hopeless as i look." Which was the truth, I could knock this entire tree down in one kick. I wasn't planing on telling him that though.

"Maybe you should use the latter." He pointed out.

"No." I snapped accidentally. I lowered my  voice and added, " I can do it."

He had his own basket, and i had one he had given me. I ended up using the latter anyway, Just to draw attention away from myself.

"You know," He called from the other side of the tree. "There plumpest reddest apples are at the top."

He was right, There were red. The reddest i have ever seen. I picked a few of them not wanting to be greedy.

"We finished just in time,'' He pointed out, "The sun is just about set."

I gasped in horror, No. It couldn't be! Where had the time gone. "I have to go, " I said, as i started to walk away.

"Wait," He grabbed my arm. I felt an instant Jolt of energy. He let go noticing my jump. "Are you ok..?"

"Yes." I lied.

"You were forgetting your apples." He bent down picking up the basket. "Here you go."

"Thank you." I forced a smile. walking away.

"My name is Luke by the way." He waved, Still smiling.

"I'm Kimberly." I waved before continuing on my way.

When i was in the forest i looked down at the apples. Something was off but i couldn't make out what it was.

Reaching the door i knocked, trying to look as casual as i could. which should have been easy for someone like me. It pretty damn sure wasn't  today.

Green opened the door. He was pissed. The glare he gave me would have shot me dead if looks could kill.

"Where have you been!" He screamed at me, throwing his hands in the air.  I wasn't going to explain myself. I just handed him the basket. Pushing past him, i started towards my room when he said "Kim." I stopped. "Why are you smiling?" He asked.

Brushing my finger over my lips, Confusion slapped me in the face. Ignoring his question i kept walking.

I dont know what confussed me more, The fact that i was late or the fact the i had a slight bashful smile. what scared me even more was i didn't even know how long it had been there. and i didn't know if Luke had seen it.
