Kamikaze
still, suspended, the bird hovers, wobbles,
then plummets, streaking white,
vanishing with barely a splash
beneath steel blue waves
I wish to live in this way, abandoned
to gravity, to love, to the joy of being here, now,
in this time twisting moment, released
to being and trusting
that I will resurface
with the wriggling proof
of my desire
held tight in my jaw
