To Those Who Seek

I stand alone, no place to hide

And none to move around

It seems my seed was planted in

The only spot of ground

That raised its head above the lake

You see around my rock

You'll have to row or swim to me

If you wish to talk

I grow slowly in this place

Much slower than on shore

And I have watched for many years

Seen sunsets I adore

Of drink, I am in plenty

Of soil not so much

My roots are deeply dug in rock

So very tight I clutch

I have the sun, the wind and rain

I have the seasons turning

And those who come to speak with me

Increase their store of learning

Those who know just who I am

What spirit lives inside

Are sensitives in touch with life

And know that I abide

To be a portal to the earth

To Gaia given form

They come in agitation

That seems to be the norm

But when the need to hear a voice

Outstrips their need to talk

A quiet contemplation falls

And wisdom I unlock

This is a time, my short lived friends

For paying close attention

To your linkage to the earth

In every known dimension

I stand an outward artifact

On land too small to plant

To those who seek, I'll be of use

"Til Gaia says I can't
