Oh Val how i miss that smile

The smile I received that morning my dear

The same day our tears would be shed

I rushed home as I heard you cry

Into the phone about the fire that blazed that afternoon to

My legs could not rush all the way

And when I arrived in ashes our home layed

I ran to what was left of the door

As I saw you fall forward all battered and torn

My hands grabbed you up and hugged you so close

Crying and begging that you would be safe

But My beautiful queen you'd taken your blows

and nothing could prepare me for the choas to come
