The gates closed as soon as the last horse sped past the opening, creaking its iron doors shut and locking securely in place. Distant whinnying could be heard from the other side of the wall, the pounding of hooves thundering on the dusty ground.

Saika stared at the locked gate, gaping as she stood there frozen in place. Her feet seemed to have taken root into the ground, her mouth hanging open slightly as if she had lost control of her jaw. She let out a whimper, choking on her breath as her fists, clenched tight from anxiety, pressed hard against her thumping heart.

She finally took a step, sudden and dragging against the floor. She reached out with one hand, the look of awe spread across her features as if she had found sunlight within a dark cave. Her parted lips quivered violently, her eyes swelling with tears. The hot droplets cascaded down her face in thick streams as she sucked in a breath, bringing in her outstretched hand to cover her mouth as she wept.

"Levi..." she cried, crouching over as she continued her sobbing.

"Mistress," Riley said gently, supporting the woman as she tilted forward. please don't cry; it's not good for your health."

"Levi..." Saika sobbed again, gazing up at the maid with tearful eyes. "He was there...just now..."

"Mistress," Riley murmured, furrowing her eyebrows. "You must be seeing things; Levi is back in Mitras where you left him."

"But he was here..." the woman whispered in a pleading tone. "I just saw him..."

"Ma'am," Lily murmured to the distressed mistress. "It's extremely difficult to enter and exit the Walls nowadays. I don't know how strict immigration was back when you were younger, but the process is extremely long and tiresome. A commoner from the Underground District beneath Mitras couldn't possibly be able to immigrate, especially if they're inside Wall Sina!"

"But it was him!" Saika cried out, suddenly bolting towards the gates. They were long locked, but there was nothing humanity could ever do to keep her from him. "Levi!"

"Mrs. Berlinsky!" Riley rushed after the woman, grabbing her by the arm and tugging her back. "You couldn't go outside the Wall even if the gate was open! Please, let's finish our walk and then we can go home!"

"But Levi!" Saika screamed, causing a ruckus in the yard. The people around her, knowing the ill wife of the wealthiest man in Trost, gave her looks of pity through dull eyes; her mind was deteriorating, and the illness she was suffering from was only making it worse. "Levi!!"

"Come now, Mrs. Berlinsky!" Riley egged the distraught woman away from the gates. "We can pick out anything you want at the grocery shop; we'll make you whatever you want to eat tonight."

The screaming woman would not stay calm, the two maids barely able to keep her from running back to the gate. The woman escaped their grasps, charging at the iron doors and surprising the Garrison soldiers that guarded the gate. Saika pounded at the metal doors with firm fists, screaming her head off as she clawed at both the metal and her face, tears soaking her cheeks in salty drops.

"I'm here, Levi!" she shrieked at the top of her lungs. "Come and get me!! I'm right here, Levi!!

           "LEVI!!"

The Garrison troops restrained the woman, holding her arms securely at her sides as she wept profusely. They escorted her back to her home, the maids following behind them with their hands folded in front of them in shame and humiliation. Saika ceased to calm down, the tears a never ending stream of sadness that poured from her own tormented heart. She felt her chest constrict once more, a painful yank that tugged at her heartstrings and drove her over.
