"Shhh Bethie."

Quinn rocked the newborn Beth in her arms. It had been two days since they had brought her home, and she had not stopped crying since they had put her down. Now it was two in the morning, and Quinn stood there, patting the infant's back and bouncing her to shush her.

"Need help?"

Quinn looked over to see Puck standing in the doorway, arms across his chest. He yawned. She wondered how he had heard her in the nursery. His room was on the other the side of the Fabray house, the sound couldn't have traveled that far. Quinn's mother, the lightest sleeper she knew, had not even got up to check on them. Puck held up a baby monitor. "I thought I would let you sleep. Guess I forgot that you had the other set of baby monitors."

Quinn yawned and struggled with Beth. " Well, I'm on baby duty, for the rest of my life. I don't get to sleep until she is married."

Puck sighed and took the wailing baby from her. " I got her."

"Puck-"

"Shh." he said as he turned back to his daughter and smiled. "She likes Daddy." He let her hold his finger and rocked her, humming lightly to soothe her. Eventually Beth calmed, slipping back into her slumber. He beamed as he placed her back in her bassinet. "That's my little girl."

Quinn watched him tuck her in. " She hates me."

Puck walked back over to her, brushing away a strand of blonde hair that had fallen from her bun. "No she doesn't. She just needs to get used to you." He then scooped her up in his arms. "Come on Quinn, let's get you to bed."

She yawned and flexed her legs. "But Beth-"

"I'll handle her tonight. And to make sure you stay asleep, you will sleep in my room. With me."

This time Quinn didn't object, as she was already starting to drift. He sighed at the mother of his child and carried her off to bed.

Puck woke up the next morning to Beth all snuggled up in his arms. He had wrapped a blanket to keep her warm, as well a pillow under her head. She had woken up a few times, but Puck had lulled her back to sleep. He had noticed how small she was compared to him, her small frame curled up in his strong arms as if she were a young child. She was so tiny, and seemed to be very fragile. The daughter of Noah Puckerman and Quinn Fabray could not be like that. It was genetically impossible.

He tried to think of what she had to have been like before the car accident. Most likely a popular girl, being his and Quinn's child she had to inherit some form of popularity. Show choir kid, from her torn up costume she was wearing in the hospital. A smart one, loud girl who had a group with her at all times.

In her sleep, Beth coughed and stirred. Her gauze was sliding off of her head, showing that he had not done it right. He would fix it when she woke up. He also needed to find some activities for her to do. Shopping with Quinn was an okay distraction, but didn't seem to work well enough. He wouldn't dare send her to school. No punk wanted to be in school, unless you were Rachel Berry. Oh god he hoped the old Beth wasn't an overbearing annoying Rachel Goldstar Berry type. Now he started to think of the high school Rachel Berry, his little Jewish princess. Now her boobs. Her tiny, annoying mosquito bites that used to-

"Mmm." Beth groaned as her eyes opened, snapping Puck out his atrocious thoughts about his high school gleemate.

"Hey Beth," He said, smoothing some hair away from her eyes.

Beth coughed. "Tired." She coughed again.

Oh dear.

"You feelin' okay kiddo?" He asked. She nodded, but he gently slipped the gauze off to place a hand on her forehead anyway. "You're burning up"
