Chapter 13

"Hi. Tilda, this is Allison, Allison this is Tilda." Jayden introduced and I felt myself having a hard time pulling out of my schoked condition. Did he have a kid?

"Hi nice to meet you." I waved to Matilda smiling at her.

"Tilda, can you go in and continue drawing while I help Allison here get rid of her stuff?" Jayden asked putting her down. I looked down at my coffee, bag with my croissant in and my handbag. Yep he definitely wanted to talk without Matilda around.

She nodded and ran away. "I'm so sorry. I thought it was next weekend I had her, not this one." He explained as he helped me taking off my leather jacket. "When my sister knocked at my door you were already on your way. If you want to leave I understand. We'll reschedule." He offered searching my eyes for something, what I didn't know.

"She's your niece?" I asked just to make sure. He nodded his head. "Cool. She's beautiful, I would love to spend the day with her." I smiled looking the way she went.

"Fantastic. Let's go join her then." Jayden beamed at me as we moved toward his living room. Tilda was sitting at the sofa table, drawing. I sat down beside her and looked over her shoulder. I couldn't really see what she was drawing. But she had some pretty good colours going.

"It's a really pretty drawing you have there." I said noticing Jayden sitting down beside her. She beamed up at me, thanking me, before she continued drawing.

"So what's the plan today?" I asked looking up at Jayden, away from the small princess in front of me. She had blond, slightly curly hair and big beautiful green eyes. She really did look like a princess.

"Uhm we don't really have any. I was thinking about going to a playground, not too far from here. It'll take 20 minutes or so in car? What do you say to going to the playground Tilda?" Jayden asked, making Tilda look up from her drawing, nodding her head eagerly up and down.

"Great. Then go find your shoes, I'll go find your car seat." Jayden got up as well as Tilda and they both left the room. I still had my shoes on, so I picked up Tilda's drawings and started looking through them. I kind of missed painting. It was obvious she was a kid. Not thinking about which colours would go together, and that was what made her drawings that good.

"Aldson, con you help me?" Tilda asked coming back into the room with her shoes in her hands. I couldn't help but smile of the way she said my name.

"Of course sweetheart. Come over here." I motioned for her to come and sit in front of me, and she did. "You can just call me Al if that easier for you. Almost everyone else does." I told her as I put one of her shoes on. "So what are your parents doing today?
