Red

        Red.

        Everywhere.

The once white walls and carpet were stained with it. Not paint, but blood.

Eyes of the same deep color slowly drifted from one side of his small apartment to the other, taking in the morbid scene. Blood coated each surface in the room to varying degrees, the most prominent of these stains being in the middle of the floor. A dark mass lay in it. A body of some sort.

He couldn't very well tell what it was, exactly, as the mass of flesh was mutilated beyond recognition.

His brow creased ever so slightly. How did his apartment come to be in such a state? In his contemplation, his hand unconsciously clenched. Something pressed into his palm, as though he were holding something.

Slowly raising his hand before his face, he examined the blade wrapped in his fingers. Drops of deep crimson clung to the metal. He blinked slowly.

        Why...?

His eyes drifted down the short blade to his own hand. Like much of the room, it was drenched in blood.

        You did this.

        What?

Crimson eyes continued down the length of his arm. He'd been wearing a white shirt, before. He knew that. The sleeve he gazed at, now, was red.

His arm fell back to his side, and he slowly crossed the room, ignoring the squelching sounds the soaked carpet made. His short trip ended in front of the floor length mirror in his bedroom.

He stared at his reflection, questioning, for a moment, if it was really him he was seeing. The person in the mirror was drenched, head to toe, in blood, the blade from before clutched loosely in their right hand.

He wanted to believe that this person wasn't him, but the crimson eyes that seemed to glow in the dim light gave it away.

        You did this.

        I... did this...

The hand that didn't hold the blade raised in front of his face, the figure in the mirror copying his actions.

        And you loved it.

Slowly, once again copying his actions, his reflection's face contorted with a twisted, sadistic grin.

        I did.

Bringing his still raised hand closer to his mouth, he lazily licked the crimson liquid from his fingers.

        "I really did."

The things mind mind comes up with when I let my sadist side run rampant... >_>

I blame Slitheen3 for this one. v3v

Anyway, if anyone actually bothered to read this: I hoped you enjoyed this short and morbid piece of writing featuring a nameless and apparently sadistic character that was admittedly no where near as bad as it could have been. XP

Until next time!
