Chapter One

"Ms.Henry are you paying attention?"I heard Ms.Wheat call from the board.I looked up and tried to hid my phone between my legs."Yes."I answered,and angled my body so I could see what she wrote on the board.We were working on the water cycle.I already knew everything ; It rained,the end."Okay then,tell me about preciptation."She crossed her arms,knowing I wasnt going to get it right.I wasnt the best science student,or a reading,math,social studies student either.I tried to remember but it felt like trying to see through paper,I couldnt.

"It has to deal with water..?"I said,hesitant.I had to pass this class or I wouldnt get my phone back for a year.

"Go on."Ms.Wheat urged.I looked at my best friend Nevaeh,hoping she would tell me.She shook her head,sadly.I was doomed.Ms.Wheat cleared her throat,drawing my attention back to her."Um..when it rains,it hits the ground..?"I waited for her answer,which felt like forever,since she was fifty-two years old and wore dentures.She sighed."Correct but add more details next time and pay attention more."She turned back to the board and began teaching again.I tried to pay attention this time but the message my boyfriend Alex sent me was distracting me.He sent me :

"I have something waiting for you at home."

What did he mean?What if it was bad?What if he tried to kill me?What if he wanted to break up?We'd been together for almost a year now,would he want to end it?I tried to distract myself by thinking of happy things like how my dad was in prison for trying to kill me.I could still remember the fear and pain as he hit me and abused me.I flinched as I imagined my screams in my head.The bell rang and I was brought back to reality."You really need to pay attention in class,Deliah."Nevaeh said,standing in front of me."I know but Alex sent me something."I showed her the message and she was suspicious too."Do you think he is gunna break up with me?"I asked,anxious.

"Nah,I dont think so.Just hope for the best."We walked to the parking lot together and I got into her car.I was only 15 and my Cake Day (birthday) was in May.Currently it was December.Nevaeh had a fancy car ; a black Porsche.

She told me she got it for her birthday,but I knew her for so long that she had got it from her dad for being a great daughter.She was so spoiled.

"Are you gonna get in or stand there like a idiot?"Nevaeh called and I looked up.She was already in the car,her head leaning in to the window.

I got in and she turned up the radio as we got onto the highway."I will always love you."Nevaeh mocked Whitney Houston's voice so perfectly it was like angels singing.

I always envied her and she knew it.Everybody envied her,she could be very popular but she insisted on staying with me.

I,was unpopular and would be that way forever.I was kind of cute : I had medium-lengthed that was red/orange and ivory skin that almost looked ghostly in a bright light.I was beautiful in my own way,but not as beautiful as Nevaeh.She had long corn-silk hair that flowed down her back and that was sometimes covering her gray eyes that would sometimes resemble a storm cloud when she got pissed off.Mines were a hazel color,they looked like contacts but they weren't.

After all my thinking,we were already at my house.I was about to open the door but Nevaeh held my shoulder,holding me back."Deliah,if anything bad happens you know Im here for you.I'll kick his ass if you want me too."Nevaeh was a good fighter,she punched me when she was mad before and god damn did it hurt.Felt like living hell.

"I'll call you."I promised her,not wanting her to hurt Alex

I got out the car and waved as she drove off.I took out my keys and unlocked the door and once I stepped inside someone grabbed me.I screamed but their lips crashed onto mines.Wait..I knew this taste.It was Alex!Alex's lips somehow tasted like strawberries but he didnt wear lipstick,not even chapstick ;his lips never got chapped he used vaseline.

I kissed him back and the lights flipped on.He leaned back and smiled.I gasped,Alex got a piercing!On his lip!That just made him more sexy.I wanted to wrap my arms around him and kiss him but I knew it probably hurt.Maybe it already hurt since I kissed him."Do you like it?"He asked."I love it!!You look even more sexy!"I saw him blush and he took his left hand out behind his back.In his hand was a small box.My heart raced in my chest,was he proposing to me?!I didnt know what to say,I was speechless.

He read my expression and smirked."Its not a wedding ring,thats later."

I calmed down and took the box from him.My hands were shaky as I opened the box.Once I opened it,I gasped.Oh my god.

Inside the small box was a ring.Not just a ring,MY ring.It was like a wedding band (not a music band,love) but it had I love You on the outside of the ring.It was made out of silver and I bet it cost him alot of money.My throat was dry and I couldnt speak,my eyes blurry with tears."Deliah,you're my only love.I love you with all my heart."He slid the ring on my finger and kissed the ring.It was almost like a proposal,it felt lke it.He saved my lips for last and I kissed him softly,not wanting to hurt his lip piercing.

I heard a car honk outside and I leaned away."Its okay,its just Rein."Rein was his best friend just like Nevaeh was mines.Me and Rein were best friends too but better than me and Nevaeh's friendship.I loved her like a sister.

He kissed me on the cheek and walked to the door.I heard the door open and then Rein's high pitched squeals.Rein was just coming back from her father's place in New York,she had been gone for like a year and I missed her,but not her obsessive side of Alex that she tried to hide from me.

"Deliah!Oh my god I missed you."Rein squeezed me into a gigantic hug and I patted her back.

Alex came into view and I could see a huge red kiss mark on his left cheek that he was trying desperately to get off.He met my gaze and he mouthed "Sorry".

Rein let go and she grinned at me."So..I heard you got something.Can I see it" She asked but grabbed my hand before I could answer."Oh my god its beautiful."Rein gasped."I know."I smirked,smugly.I knew she was jealous and wished she had Alex but she couldnt.He was MINE!She dropped my hand and sighed."Its been a long drive,Alex can I sleep in your room?" I gasped in disbelief silently so she wouldnt hear.How dare she ask MY boyfriend can she sleep in HIS room?This bitch was crazy.

Alex scratched his head,noticing my expression."I think your mom misses you.Maybe you should go home and talk to her."

Rein nodded."I guess.I'll be back over tomorrow.Talk to you later."She gave him a hug and walked out the door,closing it behind her."That bitch!How dare she do that,while im in the room!!" I yelled through my teeth.

"Love,calm down.I dont want her she's just a friend."He pressed me into his chest and rubbed my back soothingly.

"Dont fall for her."I pleaded.

"I've already fallen for someone else."He kissed my neck and I relaxed in his arms.
