I've got exams tomorrow so like here's a quick update like I had promised xx

I had been a bit nervous since this morning when Mr. Vermere had been so nice to send me more information about our rendez-vous this noon like he had told me he would. It wasn't really stress I was feeling. I was just a little more jumpy than usual, and zoned out rather quickly.

It was just like the moment before you get a test. Because like you'll know you'll get a test, when you'll get it and for example where. But you don't know if you'll be able to answer all the questions which makes you focus on the many possibilities, no? Well this was alike, I guess. I would discuss something in a tavern in the city but what we'll talk about was still my missing puzzle piece.

And so that's where the nerves came from. From the unknown.

For a moment I had wondered if I had done something wrong, if I might've said something to a reporter that has been constantly calling me, or anything. But the thought hadn't stuck around long in the beginning because the look on the neat guy's face didn't seem as if I had done something bad. Of course, now I rethink of it, everything could be a possible subject we'd be talking about later on.

'Would you stop worrying?' Kim snickeredfrom behind the steering wheel and I shot her a glance before trying to calm down like she had told me to. She must've noticed the rapid tapping of my fingers on my- covered with skincoloured panties- legs. I fiddled with the strap of my dress some more as I sighed and leaned back into the grey carseat.

It wasn't anything that formal we were attending but the great weather had kept up so we both had decided on wearing a dress. Both reaching till about knee-length. Mine was a bit lighter of colour and had a flowery print on it though.

As we got to our destination, I had managed to calm down, assuring myself that with whatever purpose he'd come, I'd have a choice in answering him. The sound of my shoes clacking against the pavement got overpowered by the noises of this vibrant city.

We spotted him sitting under an awning of the restaurant he'd promised he'd be at. I fumbled a bit with the strap of my purse as we walked over to him. He quickly took a notice of us as he waved us over. Before, he had been sitting with his papers scrambled over the table, which he was now getting all set and done for us. He was wearing glasses this time, like those black square ones that everybody calls "nerdy" but have been in for quite a while. Now that I studied him a bit better, he wasn't all that ugly. He was what you'd call average and had a slight tan which I was debating on whether it was real or not seeing as it was just beginning of spring after all. He wore dark jeans and a short-sleeved polo which you wouldn't expect from a business man like him. But yeah, who was I to judge on one's appearance?

His hand extended, and I shook it politely, Kim doing the same after me, while I was already taking place.

'Shall we order firth, so we can start discussing already?' He asked, his hand reaching up into the air to beckon a waiter. The one taking notes on his digital notepad of the orders of some four-membered family a few tables further signed back that he'd come in a second to help us out.

'So what's this about?' I questioned nonchalantly after the waiter had went inside with the things to put on the bill.

'We- and with we, I mean management who I'm representing right now -want to make you an offer.'

'For what?' I ushered as he leaned back into his chair.

'We offer you a free trip to London where you can stay a day or three, four maybe even five. That all depends..' He muttered the last part of the sentence.

'Just like that?' I scrunched my eyebrows, they knotted together in confusion as I thought about his offer. 'Why are you offering me this? What do you need in return?' My eyes narrowed as many possibilties ran through my mind. If this was fake, like I still wasn't sure about, there should be coming some signs that said so, no? Wouldn't he ask me for money or to pick something up or deliver over there, that kind of trouble? If he would, I was pretty sure we were about to leave though.
