Chapter One: Destination The Burrow

Lottie's Point Of View

I woke up on the 21st of August at 10am. It was the day before my birthday and also the day I went to the Weasley's house for the first time. I was pretty excited, not only because I could finally see what a full wizarding house looks like and where George and Fred live, but we're also going to the Quidditch World Cup! And who doesn't love Quidditch? I jumped out of bed and opened the curtains, looking out over Privet Drive. It was the usual quiet Sunday morning, with the only noise being created by birds and number eight cutting their lawn like they seem to do every Sunday. As if it grows that quickly. I turned around and flicked through my clothes in my closet, throwing the outfits I could possibly wear today onto my bed. I'd narrowed it down to a pair of brown shorts with a light green top. I smiled satisfied with my final decision and chucked some black underwear on top of it before dragging my trunk out from under my bed and scooping all the clothes I'd pulled from the wardrobe into the trunk. Okay, vso I hadn't packed. Your point? I threw five sets of pyjamas into the trunk on top of the rest of my wardrobe, chucked as much underwear I could fit in and then attempted to shut the trunk. It took me about five minutes, but I managed. I scooped up my outfit and skipped off to the bathroom. On the way, I ran into Mrs Figg who was on her way to her room, "Morning Mrs Figg!" I said and smiled brightly,

"Morning Colette," She crocked, "You alright?"

"I'm fine. Are you? You don't sound it."

"It's just a bit of a cold," She said and coughed,

"Oh. Sorry 'bout that. You want a cup of tea or something?" I asked and she nodded,

"You do whatever you're doing first. I'm going to bed." She mumbled and I nodded. She patted my shoulder as she passed and went to her room, "Oh and if there's any surprises you find, don't worry. I know about them." She smiled a little before heading into her room. I stood confused in the middle of the hallway before I shrugged and headed for the bathroom. I threw my clothes onto the floor and chucked my pyjamas into the hamper in the room, jumped into the shower and started to wonder about what Mrs Figg mean as I washed my hair. Maybe the Weasley's were coming early. I haven't seen the twins since the end of term. I mean, we've owled each other a few times but their owl is so tired by the time it gets here, he has to sleep for about two days before he can take my letters back. Mind you, it gives me time to think of a reply. Since they insist on sending separate letters and then a joined one. So in affect I have three to reply to. Even Ginny sends one a couple of times, so that made my life even harder. Me and Harry had been hanging out a couple of days a week, going to the park, dragging him around the supermarkets and I got some more shoes to run about Hogwarts in since mine had been basically destroyed over the year.

I jumped out of the shower and quickly towel dried my hair as best as I could. I tried getting my underwear on as well as brushing my hair. Near impossible, but do-able. However brushing your teeth and doing the buttons up on your shorts, is not do-able. Pulling my tank top over my head and folding the towel into the cupboard, I walked out of my room and downstairs to the kitchen. I grabbed one of my bobbles which happened to be sitting lonely upon the counter and tied up my hair in a bun with some fringe left around my face, flicked on the radio before reaching into the cupboard for bread. I threw a few slices into the toaster and danced my way over to the kettle, filling it with water and throwing a teabag into a cup. For the duration of five minutes, I manged to rock out to 'Livin' On A Prayer' and 'Ruby' as well as making myself two slices of toast, slapping the jam and butter onto them, getting myself orange juice and make Mrs Figg a cup of tea. And that, is a great accomplishment. The highlight of my holiday. Completely. So as I turned around to face the door with the toast, orange juice and tea on a tray shouting 'Ruby, Ruby, Ruby' at the top of my voice, I wasn't expecting to find anything stood in my way. But this is my life. You never know what you might find in your kitchen doorway when you're me. So for the obvious reasons of shock and happiness, I screamed, "DAAAAAAAAD!" And after I'd thrown the tray onto the counter, I ran up to Lupin and jumped at him as he engulfed me in a hug,
