When your sitting in a hospital room watching a family member waste away in sickness, not knowing whether thy're going to die or not, let me tell you, the last thing you'd ever expect them to be crying over is not being able to go to school . . . in the summer. And that's just what my sister was doing. Granted, it was over a modeling school that was very prestigious and only took five hundred students from around the world each summer, but it was school no less.

"But I wanna go!" my sister forced out through the sobs that rocked her body back and forth.

"We're sorry hun, but there's just no way. Even when you are able to leave the hospital, you aren't allowed to do anything stressful or tedious for a while, not to mention all those foreign people that could make you sick again . . ., no Mace. No, I'm sorry." my mother sighed, placing her hand over her forehead. I knew this was hard for her and all, not to mention Macie who was probably making my mom feel horrible about not letting her go to the school. I would have hated to have been in her position. To choose between your doughter's happiness and her safety . . . I hope you're catching onto my sarcasm.

Let me just pause for a moment and remind you, this is a modeling school. Who in their right mind would want to waste a summer on that? No, seriously, who would rather be picked apart by snobby witches over the beach. I know I'm not stupid here!

I was brought back to the situation by my sister's pleas. "But there are only five hundred applicants accepted each year from around the world, and I was one of them." she said, pointing a weak finger at herself.

I'm not sure whether it was the look my mom gave Macie or the lack of complete silence that told her that our parents were not going to change their minds, but either way, once she got the message clearly, she flipped herself face over on the hospital bed and mumbled, "My life sucks!"

"Oh come on Mace, cheer up!" I started, plopping myself down on the bed. "It could have been worse. And you can always reapply next year."

"Rut, I donna throw tis mear." she whined into the mattress.

I laughed, "Mace, I can't understand what you're saying when your face is all smushed into the bed."

She turned over, "You just don't get it, do you? Because this isn't one of your stupid soccer or field hockey or, whatever camps, you just don't understand it do you?", she cocked her head to the side and continued on in a softer tone, "Vince says I'm good . . .really good, and I love it. I truly do. The feeling I get when the pictures are being taken or when I walk down the runway . . . it's indescribable." she finished with that far-off look in her eyes.

Now I know some of you guys may think I'm heartless, but I'm really not. When you see the passion in your sister's eyes for something and how truly bad she wants it, but can't have it, something clicks and you just want to conquer every obstacle possible for her.

I was about to ask my mom to step out of the room for a minute so I could have a personal moment with my sister, but her phone rang and she walked out.

"I'll go."

"Wait, what?" she questioned.

"I said, I'll go."

Macie opened her mouth to speak, but I continued before she could," We look exactly alike because your face is so matured and Vince said I did have the body, plus it would only be until you were better and could attend the school anyways. It's the perfect plan.

"You'd do that for me?"

"Yeah, I can see how much you want this, and I needed a senior project anyways. It can't seriously be that hard so -" I was cut off as a bone-crushing hug was thrown my way.

"THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I love you sooo sooooo soooooo much Claire!"

I chucked, "Yeah, I know. Love you too. Now there are some things we need to take care of first before we get all happy and jumpy about this. You may not like this, but it's necessary."

Her face got serious, "What?"

"We have to lie to mom and dad, and the school. You're gonna need to tell mom and dad that you called the school to withdrawn, but they said it was okay if you caught up when you were able to attend. When the school calls you in a few days for your final confirmation, you're going to have to pretend that mom filled out the application form for you and must have put your full name on the form by accident, and that you really only like being called by your middle name, Claire. You might have to do some convincing on getting her to change the name on the form, but I have faith in you. Other than that, I know you had to be seventeen to apply to the school, but I snooped at your form and saw that you wrote seventeen as your age anyways, soooooooo we're good to go." I finished, clapping my hands together and hopping off her bed.

When I looked up, Mace was grinning and giving me a knowing look.

"What?"

"This is going to work, I can feel it. We can do this Claire, I know we can. And I know that you can do this. They're not going to know what hit them."

"I know." I said. And then, putting my sunglasses on, I strode out of the room confidently. Seriously, how hard could it be to pose for some pictures and look good in designer clothes. I've got this in the bag! It was when I went to open my car door that it all started to really hit me and the doubt started to creep in. I can't believe I'm going to school for the summer, a modeling school none the less. Lord knows I'm gonna need some sorta help before I get there. I flipped open my phone and called the one person that not only Macie could count on, but I could as well.

"Hello?"

"Heyy Vince, it's Claire. I sorta, kinda need your help . . . a lot."

I could hear him smirking through the phone," What can I do for ya babe?"
