I'm Selena and my life has been pretty rough especially last year. I had ran away with my boyfriend at the beggining of the year and I returned at about the middle. I realized that my boyfriend was not who I thought he was. So I made the choice of moving out of my home to not listen to my mom complain and cry of my wrong doing because I was ready to move on and start over however I could. So I started to look for appartments and finally I found one that fit my amout of money but the deal was having a roommate. I thought making new friends would be good for me but things don't always turn out how they seem.
I was moving into my new apartment taking in box by box. I was told that I would be having a roomate and I guess meeting new people would be good for me considering my past. As I was unpacking I found a picture of me and my boy- I mean ex. I looked at it and sighed, but I knew it was for the best. See, we broke up for several reasons I don't want to mention and the most hurtful part was that he broke up with me. As I watched the picture carefully I noticed something, but I couldn't quite figure out what it was, all I know is that it wasn't good.
Then, all of a sudden a girl walked in " Hi, uh I'm going to be your roommate.", she said smiling. "Oh hi i'm Selena nice to meet you" I said happily and relieved. " I'm Darlene, nice to meet you too, i'm already done moving my things in do you need help?" said Darlene. "Oh, yes please your so kind, you know I thought that I would get stuck with some evil roomate but I'm glad it's you." I said. " Are you serious, I was thinking the same thing and I'm glad it's you too, so what do you need help on." said Darlene. " Uh can you unpack this box, it's loaded with pictures, and can you just place them on this counter for now" I said handing her a box that read My Photos. Darlene also focused on the same picture that I did, "Who's this?" asked Darlene. I turned around from unpacking my other supplies, " Oh that was me and my ex-boyfriend ." I said. " What happened with you guys? " asked Darlene curiously. "Oh well I'm just gunna say that all guys are jerks, he totally broke my heart." I responded. " Oh, then why do you still have the picture?" asked Darlene. " I guess after everything, I still have feelings for him." I said. "I see..." said Darlene very suspiciously. "But it isnt even important you can just set it down right there." I told her trying to change the subject and I pointed at the kitchen counter. She placed it carefully and still examined it. I watched her every move because something about her didn't seem right but I couldn't figure it out.
"Is this your dad?" she asked me, I was lit up with the word dad since he wasn't here with me anymore. "Yes that's my dad" I said " That... that's the only picture I have of him", I fell in tears, I couldn't help it. " Is he... gone?" asked Darlene. I nodded. It was quiet except for my sobbing. I wiped the tears away and continued unpacking while she went to place the picture in my room and she took the other picture from the counter too. I heard a loud thud coming from my room and I ran there. " What happened?" I asked and found the picture of me and my ex on the floor. I picked it up and looked at it. There was a crack in his smile of the fall. Darlene had her hands over her mouth. "Im so sorry I should of been more careful I --" Iinterrupted her and said " It's okay."
The next day I was looking for Darlene to ask her if she would like to go shopping with me but she wasn't home. It seemed odd to me but I just went alone. I went to the place that had different stores all around, kind of like a shopping center. They had the best clothes. I went into the coffee place and as I was paying I spotted someone. It was him. My ex-boyfriend. I couldn't believe it. He was standing right infront of me. Then came along a girl, it was Darlene. She sat on my ex's lap and they kissed right infront of me. Then, they spotted me looking at them and Darlene said "Oh hey Selena, this is my new boyfriend isn't he cute?". " What are you doing with him that's my ex!" I said unaware of everyone else who was watching. "Lower your voice down!" said my ex grabbing my arm. "Don't touch me!" I shouted as I moved away from him. I looked at Darlene angry "How could you!" and I ran out.
