The Reunion

Sitting by the river at the hour of dusk,

I awaited his arrival, holding tight the lust,

The craving, the want I felt for him;

The love for him that could never dim.

     A number of thoughts crossed through my mind;

     Dozens of memories before my eyes lined;

     Of times that year we spent together days and nights

     I'd held  those memories with all my will and might

     For the very moment, this very night.

An hour went by and my grip slackened;

My voice became thick as my hope weakened.

Alas! I gave up, my eyes filled with tears ;

That's when I heard his voice after so many years.

    I turned towards him and ran towards him,

    He too rushed, closing the distance between.

    And then the craving, the lust finally broke through me:

    His lips touched mine--full of love and glee.

That night he didn't sleep and neither did I

We simply sat together as time went by.

All I could do was to look at his eyes

Love and care filled them, I did realise.

The whole night passed, the dawn broke through

 We saw the sun, Oh, it felt so new,

So, different,so young, so beautiful!
