A series of struggles that we all must face
Intangible dreams that we tend to chase
A road so long that's filled with holes so deep
A tedious climb that seems way to steep
Feeling lost, feeling so confused
Trying to mend a heart that's been awfully bruised
Stumbling on the path, struggling to reach the top
Never giving up, not allowing yourself to stop
Even when things get bad and you just want to let go and drop
Swimming against the difficult currents that drift your way
Making hard decisions, and not allowing your emotions to lead you astray
Then the time comes and you have to let go
Of everything you loved, of everyone you know
You look back upon your life and all the time that you've spent
Breathing in your last breath you sigh, and close your eyes in content
