Last year I wrote a ditty
Asking who or what is she
That celebrates a birthday
On the fourth of January.
I think we know the answer
And I can avoid the long...
And drawn out tricky process
Of writing her a song.
So I shall settle for a poem -
That's easier for me,
And we can all be done and dusted,
And home in time for tea.
So to the lovely lady,
Julia she is named;
You might know her by her love
For cakes, she is quite famed.
But if you are considering
Of possibly maybe making
Something heartfelt and personal
Perhaps involving baking,
It's important that you know
How best to avoid a scene,
So here's a tip from me:
Make sure it isn't green!

PoetryI occasionally write poems for friends and family. They're always personal but not private so I thought I'd start sharing them here.
