~Prologue~
Not long after the adventure of Sarria the Healer and Aaron the Waterweaver, Sarria’s sister Glori gave birth to a Merr named Lylah. As the child grew, the threat of sea-fairing land dwellers capturing young Merr women became ever present. Mermaids, to the surface people, were considered the greatest trophy and their blood and fins were thought to have the ability to cure illnesses and grant wishes.
The populace truly believed in such tales, and so, they began hunting Merr. As the years passed on, it seemed that the hunting had slowed and nearly stopped; many surface dwellers having captured young female Merr and finding the tales of wishes and magical cures to be false. Now, only those few who hunted for trophy purposes remained-let alone believed in- prowling the oceans for mermaids.
This is where Lylah’s story begins, with the fear of the surface fading into silence and peace settling once more beneath the water, and the turmoil of one man far away above the surface.
