Death's hungry eyes looked down on her

Waiting to be fed

He crouched and waited patiently

For she would soon be dead

Betrayals blow had struck her hard

A wound she could not bear

Deep inside her tender heart

He'd left a fatal tear

Abandonment had wrapped her tight

She could not escape alone

Her strength was not enough to live

His grip was hard as stone

All hope had faded from her eyes

She had lost her will to fight

But the war was not yet over

There came a gentle knight

He rode upon an untamed stead

Laughter was its name

He brought light to her sorrow

She would never be the same

He sent death far away from her

He erased betrayal's mark

He stole her from abandonment

He chased away the dark

She was swept into a another world

Where love reigned over all

And he was always there beside her

So she would never fall

Past monsters were nothing now

But memories of a dream

They could never touch her here

Or so it would seem

She lived in momentary bliss

Never thinking of the end

They built their world on fairy tales

But it was all pretend

Their world was never meant to last

Not built on solid ground

And when it was put to the test

It sunk without a sound

The knight's facade wore too thin

His true face began to show

Betrayal's eyes gleamed through his smile

A horrifying glow

As fast as it had come to be

Paradise faded away

It melted into darkness

She could not keep it at bay

The monsters had toyed with her

For their own twisted fun

They had put her in a fantasy

Then decided they were done

Now she is alone again

With no one left to trust

All she held so dearly

Has crumbled into dust

Death's hungry eyes look down on her

Waiting to be fed

He crouches, waiting patiently

For she will soon be dead
