I sit here and stare at the one true beauty I’ve ever known, I watch her glide and fly across the dance floor as her face shows delight and joy. As I remember the first time I saw her, three years ago; I meet Star on July 4th. Everybody in town had shown up at the beach, for the fireworks display, that night. It was very crowded and most people watched them from the docks. I remember going out to swim, while the fireworks were being lit. I didn’t mind not watching; I had seen them so many times I could tell you what type of firework went off and at what time. While I was swimming I saw some one dive of the dock and start towards the logs that marked the boundaries of the beach, though, I didn’t pay much attention. That is until I heard her laugh, having nothing better to do I swam over to see who it was and that’s when I saw her. I never thought some one could look so perfect but she was, her wet brown hair reached to the middle of her back and her blue bikini complemented her body perfectly.

“Hey you, going to dance or just day dream all day?”

Startled I looked up to see who had interrupted my daydream, to my delight it was Star.

“You know I don’t dance” I replied, she knew I didn't, and usually she lets me sit down and listen to the music when we go to a club but then again there are times when she wont let me leave alone until I have danced.

“Sara come on please I don’t like being the only one on the dance floor” her plea and puppy dog eyes went so well together I knew I couldn’t say no.

“Fine,” I agreed “but only one dance, ok?” she nodded her head frantically as she grabbed my hand and headed towards the dance floor.

When we got to the middle of the floor Star turned to me and started to dance, I went along and half way through the song Star looked at me and winked she got in really close and whispered.

“Take my lead” I nodded. Star grabbed my arms and put them around her neck I smiled and grinded up next to her she laughed and the rest of the song we danced like that. When the song changed I grabbed her hand and led her back to our table.

“What was that about?” I asked, Star looked like she wasn’t listening, she turned around and searched the dance floor and then smiled.

“Some one was checking you out, so I mad sure he got an eye full” I blushed

“Not again, Star you know I’m not interested in a relationship” I sighed. We had talked about this so many times Star looked and me and laughed.

“I’m not trying to get you a man I’m trying to get you laid, dummy” My eyes widened, I didn’t want to go to bed with some strange man. Star looked behind her again and then giggled.

“Okay get ready here he comes” she smiled with excitement; I looked over her shoulder and saw a muscular man with jet black hair and green eyes. I suppose if I was straight he would be cute in an I would never date you sort of way. He walked up behind Star and smiled.

“Excuse me, ladies” Star turned around and smiled.

“Yes?” the guy looked at Star as if he didn’t see her, then he looked at me and grinned.

“Hi, I couldn’t help see you on the dance floor and I was wondering” he swallowed like he was nerves and I took pity on him.

“Sorry not interested, but if you would like to dance with some one you can take my friend here” I said as sweetly as I could with a smile on my face. Star whipped her head around and frowned at me and the guy’s face fell.
