"Good morning Ashley Heights! It's currently five thirty-two and time to get this morning started!" My radio alarm was going off, sadly. I rolled over and and grumbled, "I don't think so". I hit snooze and went back to sleep. I could lie and say I only pressed the button once but I'll be honest and say I didn't get up til six thirty-ish. I got in the shower, shampooed my hair, washed my face, shaved my legs, conditioned my hair, and washed my body before turning the water off. I got out and wrapped my hair in a towel, then dried off my body. I brushed my teeth and styled my hair using Aussie no-frizz spray. It would dry straight later. I walked in my room and picked up a pair of my ‘pretty panties’ and put them on along with a bra that is a completely different color. Who cares? I pulled on skinny jeans and a button up shirt with a white tank top before putting on my socks and pulling my boots on. I walked out the door, meeting Maggie in the hallway. She obviously was having a lazy day wearing a hoodie and no make-up. I pull a lot of lazy days so I’m not hating one bit.

“Mornin’, you ready little bit?” I call her little bit, I always have. Mostly because she’s shorter and younger than me.

“Sure.” She mumbled it, she’s so not a morning person. Most of the time I’m not until I get in the shower. By then I’m at least half way awake.

“Now that you can’t have me you suddenly want me.” I sang to myself as I pulled into school. Getting out of my car, locking the door, I walked into my first class which is english. I do pretty good in here, I have a B. I mean not to brag or anything but I’m exactly one point away from an A! No one is at all ready for class to start, so I pulled out my tattered copy of Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. I like it, it’s about wolves. Her take on us is quite good, although we can’t bite people to turn them, it’s actually pretty close but there’s lots of differences. I had read a good ten pages when my book got snatched out of my hands. I hate when people do that.

“Whatcha readin’ there?” I looked up to see Dean. He ran a hand through his dark curls while he waited for my answer, “if you look at the front you’ll see what it is”. “Now give it back.”

He flipped it over and read the back as he sat down behind me and leaned close. His breath was against my neck when he spoke, “you know if you had wanted to know about our kind you could have just went and gotten the books from the attic of Blake’s parents’ house”. I turned around, “I don’t think his parents would like me snooping around in their house”.

He gently laughed, “I never said you had to snoop around to find what you’re looking for”.

“You never said I didn’t either.”

“Alright class get your copies of ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ out and start on chapter nine.” The teacher walked in talking, I think this chick talks in her sleep too.

A kid raised his hand, “what if you aren’t there yet?”

Mrs. Pinkston smiled, “well continue where you left off and then start chapter nine”. I figured that was obvious but you always have that one person. I probably shouldn’t say that, I mean it was a legit question, but it was a duh.  I’m sorry this school is full of idiots and if you went here you would completely understand. I get very easily annoyed by them and sadly enough the younger they are the worse it is. The rest of the class went by relatively easy, we had a quiz on chapters seven and eight. Dean interrupted me a couple of times by stabbing me in the back with his pencil, it will be the death of him one day. Mark my words. Will be the death of him. At one point I turned around after the quizzes had been taken up, “one day I will shove that pencil up your nose”. Laughing he gave me a quick comeback, “you would enjoy that wouldn’t you?” Without smiling even though I wanted to I said, “it’s my goal in life. I dream about it every night.” I turned back around and he was quiet for a few minutes before I felt his breath on the back of my neck, “you dream about it just like that kiss you promised me”. This made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Meeting up with Cam before second, I started telling her about Dean.

“Beth he’s gonna end up a lone wolf. Don’t you see it?”

I furrowed my eyebrows and said, “no what do you mean?”

“Haven’t you noticed that he puts distance between him and everyone?”

“No.”

She sighed, “well maybe it’s just me.” She turned to walk away about halfway down the hall she turned around, “oh and by the way your time is running out for that kiss so you might wanna pull your head out of your ass.”

I couldn’t even continue to look at her and just looked at the floor. A few seconds later I lifted my head, “I know.” But I was standing alone in the hallway.
