What pensiveness struck suddenly
Glimmering out of the ignorant night?
Loud, boisterous, cacophonous thoughts
Echoing, echoing... Lost, swept away.
Swept away by the river of consciousness,
Thundering past the illusion of the self.
Sitting pensively by the riverside,
Tossing in thought after thought,
Skipping memories across its turbid surface,
Dropping wishes and hopes in like pennies
Watching them disappear, gone. Swept away.
What pensiveness struck suddenly,
And then suddenly subsided.
Pulled back out to sea
Back into the abyss
Back into the ignorant darkness
Down
Down
Down
Gone.
