With each resistant step, I grew nearer to the place I had been trying so hard to forget. But I was powerless to stop myself. It felt as if some unseen force was burning its frozen claws deep into my soul and tugging it, like a blood thirsty master yanks on his dogs chain. I knew that if I were to dig my heals into the cold earth and refuse to take another step, my soul would be ripped from me and I would become nothing more than an empty, hallow eyed creature, slowly rotting from the inside.
My heart fought against me, pounding brusingly hard against my chest, as I laid my eyes on a sight that I had so desperately wished to never see again. A sight that lived in my nightmares. The same sight everyone had told me didn't exist, but in the back of my mind I had always know that I would see again.
