Chapter 4

Jake's P.O.V

Driving down the high way, I couldn't help but think, what did the Camille family want from me? Ever... My hands tightened on the wheel. Ever since she left, they've been a closed off family. From what I've heard, their family had taken a bad blow and they were having some troubles.

Though this morning, Xavier Camille called me and requested that I had breakfast over there to discuss something very important. I didn't have anything this morning so I accepted and that's where I'm heading to now.

As soon as I pulled in, I was actually nervous. I'm about to face the family who, unknowing to them, destroyed their family. Sure, I've seen them at pack meetings before, but never did I actually get close to them, or even talk to them.

Taking a deep breath, I got out and started walking up to the door. I knocked on it four times and waited. Alexandra Camille opened the door with a warm smile, but looked as if she'd been crying. Maybe this family is really having some serious problems. Maybe that's what they want to talk to me about.

She motioned me in while she chirped,"Alpha Smith! Why don't you come in, we have breakfast and they should be down soon." Whose they? Maybe her son found a mate and they want to introduce me to her or something.

When we walked in, the first thing I noticed was a rogue. I instantly tensed up. Rogues need to talk to me before they be on our territory, well, I guess this is what they wanted to talk to me about. I met the rogue's eyes and his were blazing with a fury and hostility that confused me.

He had a deadly gleam in his eyes as if he wanted to leap across the table at me. If he wanted to stay on my territory, he would have to do better than try and act like he wanted to tear my throat out because right now, my answer is going to be heck no, he can't stay since it seems he might pose a threat to the pack.

Hearing footsteps approaching, I looked up and smelt the mpost beautiful scent in the world. Vanilla and coffee mixed together. I saw her before she saw me, but when her beautiful yellow eyes looked up to meet mine, she froze as did I.

She was still beautiful, with her curly snow white hair falling down, framing her beautiful heart shaped face. Her unique, yellow, wolf like eyes were still amazing, even as they contained an anger like no other. Her small body still looked soft to touch and I wanted to just bring her close to me and never let her leave again.

Though, when she broke eye contact with me, I was released from her gaze and noticed how hard my heart was pounding. My wolf was howling at me to grab her and never let her leave. He demanded me to not make the mistake of rejecting her again. He hated me since that day and now this is the first time in awhile he spoke even remotely nice to me.

Not seeming to know the tension, my mate's father spoke up,"This is what we wanted to talk to you about Alpha Smith, our daughter has returned home, along with her best friend Josh." So that's who the rogue is, and if he knows what happened, that would explain the hostility.

I was dumbfounded. For the first time, I didn't know what to do, what to say. The only thing that registered was the fact that I had my mate back, and this time, I wasn't planning to let her go.

Arrow's P.O.V

Anger.

That's the only emotion running through me right now. No pain, no sadness, just anger. I've already drunk away all my pain to where it was nothing but numbness, I don't think I can feel pain for my mate anymore. I wouldn't want to anyways.

We just sat down as my mother got our plates ready, refusing to let us do it ourselves, I was sitting in front of their stupid Alpha and beside Josh. I knew he was seething, but so was I. He grabbed my hand and started rubbing circles on him, whether to calm him down, or calm me down.

Either way, it helped me some, and I think it helped him some too. After we got the food, my mom started to talk,"Alpha, as you can see, my daughter has returned, along with this guy Josh here. My husband knew that since Arrow is no longer apart of our pack, and Josh has never been, we'd need to get your permission for them to stay."

My heart stopped, yes, we would need his permission to stay. My stomach sank, but if he has even a little bit of a heart, he'll say yes to my hopeful parents and brother. I looked him straight in the eyes and dared him to say anything different. If he said no, I would literally destroy him.

He looked to my father and nodded before speaking in a voice filled with authority,"Yes, she and Josh may stay for as long as they like." My body, which I didn't know has tensed, relaxed and I saw Josh's doing the same.

Josh and I are like a two person pack, we can communicate through mind, but we wouldn't be able to do that with my parents or their pack because we aren't apart of it. Sending him a message, it said,"We can stay, now as soon as he gets out of my house, we won't have to see much of him."

Josh sent back,"Good, because I'm ready to rip him to shreds now and I will if I have to see him much more." I smiled at Josh as he smiled at me, his one smile telling me that everything's going to be okay and that he'll always have my back, no matter what.

I could feel eyes on me, and I looked up to meet his blue eyes burning a hole through my own. Inside them were sadness, regret, determination, and what was that? Jealousy? Back less than twenty four hours and I'm already going crazy.

I just glared at him and finished eating while my parents talked to their idiotic Alpha about how happy they were that I was back. If only they knew... If only they knew that it was Jake Smith, their Alpha, that broke this family, if only they knew, they wouldn't be so happy with him...
