The Eye of Time

I'm gonna tell you the story of the Eye of Time,

I'm gonna tell it in a poem, using some rhyme,

It started in a hole way down in the ground,

Then it rose into the air like a hell bound hound.

The Ancients created it to travel back and forth,

They hid it in a valley way up to the North,

They went to the future, they went to the past,

But their Ancient Empire fell, it didn't last.

The glowing disc floated high in the sky,

Its lidded eye opened and it let out a sigh,

A force field enveloped the town down below,

The whole town vanished in time don't you know.

They had travelled back to the Ancient land,

Saved from the destruction that was at hand,

"To live a full life," the Ancient had said,

"Not to die at war, but in your own bed."

He said no more as he threw the switch,

And sent them into a great cavern which,

Would be the place they lived and died,

But at least they entered with eyes open wide.

From the rest of the world they were kept apart,

So that a paradox would not start,

While they were there they they developed the Eye,

So that in the future they would not die.

This is the story of The Eye of Time,

Told in a poem, using some rhyme,

They placed it in a hole way down in the ground,

They buried it deep so it couldn't be found.
