When I was small, my mother told me that there was a place in the park near our house where people don't normally see or find out. I found out that it was a bench that was surrounded by three large bushes brimmed with flowers all year long. The opening was covered heavily with vines and the bench itself was on the green grass, waiting for someone to sit on it. Best part is that

the place was hidden in a group of trees, so that people wouldn't notice that place. It was a peaceful place for me and my mother to relax, even at depressing times.

But she died suddenly, after one sad winter, so it has been lonely ever since at the bench. Until one day, I saw an unexpected person sitting on the bench.....

When I met the person, I was surprised at his appearance. Hair as red as crimson, skin as pale as a ghost, jade green eyes that never seem to blink and a face that is almost expressionless with lips that never seem to smile. As I sat down, I felt the eyes boring into my skin, which felt uncomfortable. I wasn't used to this feeling, so I found myself glancing at him repeatedly. Never had company before, I guessed, but I think that it's something else. Finally, I managed to get out,

"Hello, what's your name?"

"Jasper. "was the reply. So we sat there until it was evening and I had to go.

"Bye. " I said awkwardly and left.

On the next day, when I came to rest at the bench after a long day, I found him on the bench, sleeping this time. But once I sat down, he woke up immediately, looking alert. He stared at me for a moment, then he stared into space.

"So... Jasper right?" I said, breaking the silence after a while. He didn't respond, so I continued, "How did you find this place?"

He closed his eyes as if in deep thought, with his bangs covering his eyes as he opened them. "I don't know, I just noticed it..." he sighed, "Actually, I fell through the vines when I though that there was supposed to be a wall."

"Oh..."

"So, what's what's your name?"

"Mimi ."

"Hmmm. " he nodded then went back to sleep....

After a month, I found out that he just moved into this town by himself and started school like us. He is a grade older than me, so I don't see him much at school. Other then that, he's smart, quick, and fit. But for some reason, teachers whispered,

"There's something with him..."

Me, personally, don't think that there is anything wrong with him. Except that unlike most redheads, when ever he gets bullied, he makes the bullies go on their knees before him. Anyways we always meet at the bench after school.

Slowly, week by week, Jasper slowly opened out to me and began to speak more frequently. He found out some of my secrets and he told me some of his. I learned that he was an experienced killer, able to kill anything without hesitation.

"Shhh... Don't tell anyone..." He placed his index finger on my lips, "or else it's going to be over for me..."

"Okay."

"You know, you're actually the first person who I actually trust." I felt my heart rate speed up and my face warming up. Jasper frowned,

"Are you alright?"

"You're getting warm, do you have a fever?"

"N...no..." I stuttered.

"Okay, then I'll be going now..." He stood up and left.

Everything was perfect about him, except that he was missing a smile. It was either a cool, calm, stunned or frowning face. His lips just refused to smile, even at the funniest moments at school. I just want a smile from him so bad...
