Chapter 1

Chapter one

I zipped up my suitcase and sighed, i was excited but nervous at the same time. I was moving to America with my dad and brother Jake. Well technically he's my cousin brother but weve lived together ever since we were born, you see Jake's parents died in a car crash when he was just born so my dad had full custody over him so he's basically like a brother to me

The reason whe were moving to America is because my Dad got a job there, in New York. Hmm Fascinating. Youre probably wondering wheres the Mum to this oh so perfect family. The cold truth is that my parents just got divorced two weeks ago to be honest im not really suprised. I could see it coming anyway. So im living with my Dad seeing as my Mums already got herself a new man but now im gonna leave all that crap here in England and move to America and start a new fresh life.

I sighed again and looked at myself in the mirror i saw, a girl aged 17 called Melissa with golden chocolate coloured wavy hair piled up on her head, green emerald eyes outlined by a thin line of eye liner, and lips glimmering with a thin layer of gloss. I decided to just wear something casual seeing as we would be travelling most of the time. So i wore Beige Skinny Jeans with a dark blue hoodie and a pair of toms. I smiled at myself as i began to dream about America.

"You look Stupid" said a voice from behind me.

I jumped and saw Jake standing there smirking at me, he was dressed in a hoodie and a pair of jeans. Jake could definatley pass as my brother with our brown hair and emerald eyes. According to Vicky (my best mate since nursery) Jake is "hot" but ewwwwwww hes like my brother!

I scowled at him and said "shut up and take my stuff down im jut gonna make sure i havent forgotten anything

Jake just rolled his eyes and said "ok boss"

I looked everywhere to make sure i hadnt left anything behind, then i took one last look whispered a small bye and closed the door. I ran downstairs and came face to face with a very upset looking Vicky i pulled her into a hug and couldnt help the tears that escaped. I pulled back and looked at Vicky i smiled at her reassuringly and squeezed her shoulder saying

"Ill miss you Vicky youll always be my best mate, illl ring you all the time maybe you could come in the holidays or something?!!

Vicky started laughing " Im really gonna miss you and your insane chattering! And of course im still gonna be your number oNe B*tch, dont u ever replace me and id love to come to America maybe ill be able to meet Justin Bieber OMG OMG OMG!!

I sniggered "and you said im the one who talks a lot and as for Mr Bieber he could live next door for all i care, hes just another guy like us who eats,sleeps,drinks,sh*ts an--"

I couldnt even finish my sentence before Vicky slapped me "heyy that hurts" i sais rubbing my cheek.

"Good" said vicky "you just Insulted my Justin"

I just rolled my eyes as i heard my dad come in and say

"Come on Mel we got to leave oh and vicky you take care of yourself and come visit anytime.

Vicky smiled and said "Dont worry i will and take care of my lil M for me"

And with that we both started crying and hugging i saw Jake come in and take one look at us and then left the room muttering about something like women and hormones. Idiot.

I gave Vicky one last hug and said goodbye as i got into the car. Jake said bye to Vicky too and then we where off i waved to Vicky and my house till we couldnt see them anymore.
