Epilogue

(Nicole POV)



I heard the doorbell ring and quickly ran to answer it. I opened the door.

"Tom, Deniz!" I greeted happily.

They both smiled and stepped in my new flat.

Deniz was Tom's girlfriend. They met a few months after Tom got let out of the hospital. She had straight black hair, light blue eyes, had a sweet smile and love Shapkesphere like Tom.

"Hello love, happy birthday!" He said giving me a small box wrapped neatly with a purple bow.

"Thanks" I smiled.

Tom and Deniz followed me to the kitchen were Terrence was making brownies. Or trying to....

"Terrence" He greeted. They both hugged briefly and Terrence got back to work. Terrence hadnt let me do anything that required work all day.

After my mother was locked away, Terrence asked me out on a date. A few months afterwards we were engaged and then married in December.

We heard a small cry from the living room.

Must be Maddie.....

"I'll get her" Tom offered. I nodded and he left to go comfort her. Tom was very good with kids. Ever since Terrence and i adopted Maddie, he's the only one that Maddie behaves with which is perfectly fine since it gives Tom and excuse to come over more often.

Tom came back with Maddie, laughing in hs arms. She'd grown up quite a bit. It was quite obvious that Tom would be a big part of her life. Her first word had been Tom and she absolutely loves him.

"Let's sit down and have lunch" Terrence said, "while the brownies cook in the oven"

We all agreed and sat at the dining room.

Terrence had cooked rice, stake and mashed potatoes for us. There was also a big cake in the middle that read

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE!!

on it.

We all started eating. The food was actually good considering Terrence cooked all by himself.

"If you dont mind, I have a small announcment" Tom said looking at Deniz, smiling.

Terrence and I looked up at him.

"We're engaged" He said happily. Deniz showed us her ring. It was small but beautiful and had a shiny diamond encrested on it.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you two!" I congratulated.

"Congrats, mate" Terrence said.

"Thank you" Deniz said.

"How'd it happen?" I asked curiously.

Tom blushed a bit and Deniz told us, "Remember we took a short trip to Paris for the weekend?"

we nodded.

"So he took me to a coffeshop in front of the Eiffel Tower and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him"

Aww!!

"Thats so romantic!" I said causing Tom to blush again.

Then the phone rang interrupting our conversation.

I excused myself and went to asnwer it.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Ma'am Im calling on behalf of the Chelsea and Westmisnter hospital to let you know that the test results came in and it turns out that you are pregnant" The lady said.

Pregnant?

I'm really..... pregnant!? I jumped up and down excitedly holding the phone in my hand

"Thank you so much for the good news!"

"Make another appointment in a few months to find out how many and the gender" The lady said, "Good luck"

"Thanks you bye!" I hung up and ran to the dining room.

"Looks like I have an announcment too!" I cried excitedly, "I'm pregnant!"

Terrence nearly choked on his food and Tom and Deniz smiled.

"Congratulations Nicole!" Deniz said standing up to hug me.

"You'll make an incredible mother" Tom told me.

From now in, I knew things would be great. Not just okay but amazing. I have Tom to thank for that. He saved my life when I tried to end it. He never gave up on me when I did. He was always there for me when I needed him. I was eternally grateful for him.

He tought me that my life was important and that I mattered... everyone matters.

There'sa reason I didnt die that day and that was to teach me a very important lesson. No matter who you are, where you live, how old you are, how smart or pretty or ugly, YOU ARE STILL IMPORTANT.

And even though all my dreams of going to Oxford and everything else I dreamed of as a girl didnt come true, I got an even better life. One with a loving husband, a daughter, a baby on the way and a caring friend that I could always rely on.
