Her reaction to my words was unexpected. She reached into her bag to pull out an old frayed teddy bear, and her arms brought it up to her chest in a loving embrace.

When her eyes met mine she could tell by my expression what I was thinking.

"What? If you get to make potty jokes, I at least get to cuddle with my baby bear."

"Am I the one who frightens young children in the dark?

"If you are referencing the fact that I am scared or rethinking this whole thing because what you just said, then yes!"

As soon as I heard her say that I pulled over the car again, but on the opposite side of the field.

"Why are we stopping this time?"

I looked at her. To be honest I really did not want to ask her this questions. After being out of tune with my emotions - and finally feeling them again- I can't believe I was proposing this question knowing the dangerous outcome.

"I gave a choice to you, to take an adventure with me and you agreed to the knowledge and to the truth. I gave you warnings and you ignored. With that said does the flower want to go back to the ground where it once grew from?"

"No, I don't want to go back. I meant what I said."

When those words were her reply relief is what I felt. My biggest concern was leaving her and never seeing her again.

"I just don't like the idea that every time I make you answer a question that someone dies because of it. To know that the people who are morning think they will never see their loved ones again. That causes them pain and knowing that I caused those feelings leaves me...feeling worthless and stupid."

"Aaah my flower, it is better for them to know the idea of death than to know the reality. So worthless you are not and stupid should be replaced with intelligence. The answer to your problem is simple: Do not ask questions about the Riddler's curse, until we have arrived to the place where they cannot hear my words and know my location."

As I look to Jana for the first time since we stop I saw the pain that I heard in her voice disappear from her eyes.
