Ib's P.O.V.

Ib walked home alone, her feet dragging on the sidewalk. It was turning dark, and she was a little miffed that Garry hadn't shown up back at the bakery after the incident with Jaco. She sighed to herself and walked past his former house, pausing for a few minutes at the broken building. Ib wondered about Garry's family; Had they known what had happened at the gallery? Or knew that Garry wasn't dead or kidnapped by now? She kept walking, trying not to think about it. But she did think about what had happened earlier with Garry. Maybe he had been mad at her for siding with Jaco. She thought so; It was the only reasonable explanation. Right?

When Ib got back to her house, she looked around for Garry. He wasn't in the kitchen or living room, so Ib figured he was in his room. But it was also empty. She went to her room and almost screamed-until she realized it was just Garry lying on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. But when Ib walked over to him she realized he was sleeping, eyes closed and breathing softly. Ib took her blanket from the floor and put it over him, freezing every time he moved or took a deep breath. She dropped it on him and he sighed softly, letting out a soft murmur. Ib waited a few seconds before going to his room and flopping down on his bed, falling asleep almost as soon as her head hit his pillow.

Ib dreamed that night.

She was walking through the corridor, her feet dragging softly on the purple floor. Someone was calling out her name, eerily familiar, but she couldn't call back to them. She began walking faster, breaking into a run when she blinked and the end of the hall was far away again. She didn't blink when she ran towards it, and it stayed in place. But she reached forward to touch it...and a black hand came out of the wall to drag her in. She almost screamed, but then she heard that voice again, and she knew who it was now. "Garry!" Ib suddenly called out, lost voice forgotten, looking around desperately in the dark void beyond the wall. Suddenly something grabbed her and she gasped, ready to sink into the darkness surrounding her. But a pair of arms wrapped around her and she looked up. The dark was turning paler, and she realized it was...Jaco. Recoiling from his arms, Ib fell back, floating into the dimming emptiness again until something grabbed her by the waist and hugged her. "Sorry, Ib," Garry murmured, turning away and walking, leaving her standing alone and hugging herself in the darkness, vision fading away again.

Ib gasped, sitting up quickly. She felt something on her side and looked down, stiffening. But it was just Garry, looking asleep. "Bad dream?" he suddenly asked in a whisper, opening his eyes. Ib blushed, lowering her eyes. "Y-yeah. Bad dream." Garry sighed, sitting up with Ib as he stretched. "Don't worry, Ib! I'll protect you, okay?" She nodded, and Garry beamed at her. She lay down and he slid off the bed, dusting himself off. She realized she was in her own room when Garry spoke again. "I'm going to my room, Ib. If you need anything, call me, or come get me, okay?" Ib nodded, and Garry turned away, whispering a good night to her before he left to go to his own room.
