I sat on the grass absolutely dumbfounded for a couple of seconds to let my brain process what just happened, a smile creeped up on my lips once more as I fell backwards onto the grass allowing the sun to soak into my skin. I wasn’t sure whether the pleasant warm feeling that overcame me was from the kiss or the sun itself but I didn’t care it felt good. I fidgeted with the crucifix around my neck and bit my lower lip as I let my mind drift into thought, Cassandra the absolute bombshell, the girl that I’ve been drooling over for the past 4 months just kissed me!!! I couldn’t believe it yet I knew it was true as I was still lying in the same spot it happened!

I closed my eyes, the smile still on my face and wondered whether it would ever happen again, the thought didn’t last long as I was rudely interrupted by a soft voice. I knew the voice and it gave me chills in places I didn’t you could. I opened my eyes to see who it was but without even having to look I knew exactly who it was I just hoped that by opening my eyes they would confirm my ears to be deceiving me but I was wrong. There she stood in black skinny jeans and a white button up shirt, a red tie hung loosely around her neck with her blond hair perfectly in place. Her pixie face which I once thought cute now scared me and I didn’t even know that was possible. “Your day appears to have ended better than mine, “she commented as she sat down across from me, observing me closely. I started feeling uncomfortable and got up to leave but as I turned around I felt her hand grabbing my wrist. “Did I do something wrong?” she asked seeming genuinely concerned. “I glanced down at her, deciding whether or not to believe her, “No you didn’t do anything wrong, I just got to go.” I answered as I turned again and left. Hesitantly I peeked back over my shoulder and saw her staring after me with a strange look on her face, I couldn’t tell whether it was pain or anger, whatever it was it made me feel uneasy and I quickened my stride back to the school building.

Once I got inside I felt better, classes were coming out and everybody was either at their lockers or on their way to the door to go home. I made my way to the door when I spotted Cassandra at her locker, maybe I should go say goodbye I thought as I changed my course from the door to her locker instead but something had me stop dead in my tracks. A pungent odour invaded my nose and I couldn’t get it out, it was definitely blood but had that same disgusting iron smell that I picked up on my locker door. I searched the corridor for the smell but couldn’t find it, it felt like the odour was surrounding me, confusing me and without notice something hard collided with my chest and I fell to the floor with a loud thump. I groaned with my eyes shut as I felt the pain consume me, it took me a few seconds to recover and as I looked up I saw it wasn’t something that collided with me but someone. A large boy stood wide eyed in front of me, his hand outstretched to help me up but not a single word escaped his mouth. He was from the football team I realized as I saw his team jacket and the football lying at my feet.  Sat upright and took hold of his hand, he helped me up in one swift pull. “Holy shit! I’m so sorry Dom!” He stuttered as he started inspecting me to see if I got hurt. I rubbed my elbow and winced a little, that’s definitely going to bruise I thought to myself as I chuckled softly. The Jock known as Ross must have thought I was chuckling at him as he smiled slightly and helped me out of the busy corridor into an empty classroom. He sat me down on a chair and sat down across from me. “You sure you’re okay?” he asked as he stared me directly in the eyes. I nodded gently and gave him a polite smile as I attempted to get up which proved to be harder than I expected. He chuckled a little as he got up himself, grabbed my backpack which he picked up from the corridor before dragging me out of there and picked me up once again. “What are you doing?” I asked confused and startled, usually people steer clear off me and run off in fear after giving me one look. “I’m taking you home, there’s no way I’m letting you walk besides I have to make it up to you, or do you consider jocks running you over as a common thing?” I giggled a bit and just shrugged, he laughed again and hauled my butt out of the school building and to his car waiting outside.

I had no idea what type of car it was as I had no knowledge at all of cars, something I did know was it’s a stunning car, definitely a new sport model in silver. I got into the car and he got in beside me. Without even asking where to, he drove to my house, this creeped me out a little seeing that no one at school has ever been at my house or even spoken for more than five minutes to me without running away. He came to a halt in front of my house after a ten minute drive with bullet for my valentine blaring out of the speakers. He jumped out of the car and ran around to my door, opened it and helped me out. I admit it was sweet in the beginning but really I wasn’t paralyzed I just bruised my elbow, had all the air removed from my body for a few seconds and hurt my ankle again, I could walk but he insisted on half dragging me to the front door. Once there I took my backpack from him and thanked him politely. He just grinned at me, not saying a word and jogged back to his car, once inside he glanced at me and then spun off. What the hell was that?!?! My mind yelled at me as I entered the house and with one look wished I didn’t…
