Gipsy was under attack hard. She suffered damage to her right leg and right arm. Gottleib and Geizler were running in to the main control room ranting about something in a panic. We watched them rush to the microphone and they were babbling on about the plan not working. They needed a Kaiju body for it to read that it's a Kaiju entering instead of something foreign. The screen beeped and showed that Striker Eureka was under attack. "We've got 'em all distracted here Gipsy! Get to the portal!" Pentecost radioed. "Hang in there! We're comin' for you!" Raleigh radioed. "No! Nevermind us! Just get to the portal!" Pentecost pressed on. "I said we're coming!" Raleigh pressed too. "Get to the portal. And close this place down." Pentecost said. "Alright sir." Raleigh gave up. "We can still save you! There is still time!" Mako pleaded. "No! Mako...you can always see me in the bridge." He said. A few crew members hung their heads. I looked at Herc sadly. Chuck began to quote his own father which made Herc tear. After a few seconds we were told on the screen that Striker Eureka was disconnected. I covered my mouth with my hand and felt a tear roll down my cheek.

Raleigh radioed that they were almost there. And a Kaiju appeared radared directly in front of them. "We see this one." Raleigh radioed in. We watched as the radar showed them approaching the portal bridge. And they got in successfully. Now for the rest of the mission to be executed. Raleigh gave Mako his oxygen and sent her out in a pod. "I'm going to have to do it manually!" Raleigh radioed in. I let my hand down and we all watched and waited. A pod was deployed and shortly after Gipsy Danger was disconnected and the bridge was collapsing. Everyone cheered except for Herc and I. I smiled briefly. The pod that Mako was in signalled signs of life. Raleigh's didn't. "The radar could be off. Just not getting any signal." Ops said. Mako was complaining that she can't tell if he's breathing. We waited for anything. Finally, Raleigh spoke. The crew cheered and I looked down and took Chuck's tags in my hand and started walking away. "This is Commander Hercules Hansen. Stop the clock." He said. Everyone was cheering at this point. I could understand their happiness, no more Kaiju attacks. But I was deeply saddened about losing Chuck. As I was sure Herc was too.

Five years had passed, no other portals have been opened. I was living with Herc in his home and making breakfast while he got ready for work. His footsteps sounded down the hallway then to me in the kitchen. "Have a good day alright?" He told me and kissed my cheek. "You too Herc." I said. He turned and left to the entryway when the ground trembled. I stopped cooking and lifted my head. There was another tremble and we looked to each other. The city alarm started to sound. "Get under the table!" He commanded. I hurried under and tucked my head. He slid under the table and covered me. The ground trembled more and the dishes started rattling and shattering. Then we heard a sound we thought we'd never hear. A vibrating roar of a Kaiju. I lifted my head and looked. Herc expressed both terror and anger. The sounds got louder and he covered me tighter as half the house caved in.
