Pourquoi means why
Or is it the other way around
I've never been shy
And I promise that I won't start now
I hate English
Je deteste l'Anglais
Even the ones who aren't British
I've had ras le bol this way
English
The languages of tourists and business
I wish
It would keep its distance
What makes English so special?
Why is English in every country?
Other languages, be careful
Other languages, be wary
L'Anglais will take control
We hear l'appel du vide
Calling from, falling down the hole
Its darkness takes the lead
Notre douleur exquise
Our non-mutual affection
"Learn English" they demand with ease
Forgotten is my French perfection
Every two weeks a language dies
85 years from now
Only 10% of languages will still survive
Maybe they'll even wonder how
I don't know which ones will stay
Probably the ones mixed with English
Lost a little so they don't fade away
Spanglish, Singlish, Chinglish
I will not accept "Franglais"
English is no better than French
So, I will only speak Français
My language, they cannot quench
My tongue I can't forget
My rebellion I won't control
To English, this is my threat
I will not fall into that black hole
Quenched by my dépaysement
English surrounding the land of French
Disoriented in the English Millenium
I fear my voice will be quenched
I will stand tall
My friends and I will speak Français
Our language will not fall
I don't need Anglais
I don't hate the people
I don't hate the words
I hate that it's regal
Its superiority is absurd
All languages were created equal
Of that I am sure
The domination of one language is evil
Translation is our only cure
Languages can coexist
