I Love... Luke? [22]

Luke's POV

I heard the gun, but I didn't feel it. The whole time, I was thinking, good bye Nelena. My sweetheart. My one and only true love. I love you. 

But when I didn't feel any bullets digging into my skin, I thought Oh baby Jesus. I'm dead already? I didn't even get hit yet.

"Sally!" Nelena cried.

Sally, I thought. What happened to her?

I turned around and could not believe what I saw.

Nelena's POV

The man covered my mouth, holding my neck with his other hand, ready to choke me if I made any sudden moves.

My bleeding knees were killing.

That other thug took out a gun and pointed it at Luke, who rushed foward to attack them when I fell.

"No! Luke!"

Before he had any time to react, the most ironic thing happened.

Sally, who I've nearly forgotten, jumped out of her stance and pushed Luke away.

"Sally!"

The impact of the bullet made her fall backwards, making her dive headfirst onto the concrete.

'Sally..." I whimpered, afraid to admit the truth.

Sally's POV

How in the world did this happen? I had not intention of...

No, I have got to stop lying to myself. 

All this time, I acted like a bitch, making Nelena's life miserable. I made her status sink so low, even she felt she wasn't worthy.

She was like my sister, but yet, I subconsciously, tried to make her feel like she was nothing and I was the girl under the spot light. She was just the back up dancer to me. I'm sure she felt that way. 

I acted so mean and stabbed her in the back everytime she entrusted me with a secret.

She was such a dense girl and I admired her for that.

And this is how iI will compensate everything that I've done to her.

She's always been there for me, and it's time to repay her.

I didn't take any chances. This act has to be fast.

Or else that rests upon this will fall. 

I moved away from my position and pushed Luke out of the gun's range with all my strength. The very next thing I felt was not the bullet, but an acute emotional pain strike through my chest.

Then i felt it. I felt the flying bullet go straight into my back, just inches away from my spinal cord. It was a pain that was so fast, yet really intense.

The pain didn't last for more than 5 seconds. But the pain was so bad, it was unbearable.

The force of the bullet was really hard. 

I fell.

I fell, and everything went black.

Everything was dull and colorless.

I could've sworn I saw my life go by me.

Good bye Nelena, I'm so sorry for everything I've done to you.
