There she stands
Broken and alone
Falling into the trap that is solitude
The deep, dark black hole of insecurities
The trap impossible to escape from
When she sees herself
Standing in front of the mirror
She sees extra skin and an ugly face
But when she stands there
Buying her pills
The world sees
Skin, bones and a beautiful face.
Walking the halls of her school
She hears the laughter of the cheerleaders
The whispers of the week old rumors
She sees the notes in her locker
"ANOREXIC" they say
"FRIENDLESS'‘ they say
But with each note
And each rumor and giggle
She falls deeper into the trap
That is solitude.
