"Wait," Emily says with a confused look on her face. "I'm pregnant with another guy's child, and he doesn't even want it. Why would you?" I sigh and smile at her. If only she could really understand how much she mattered to me. She starts shivering slightly and wraps the jacket around her tighter.

"Because he doesn't care about you nearly as much as I do." I take her hand in mine. "If he doesn't want you, it's his loss. If you give me the chance, I will give you and the baby the world. Just give me the chance." I beg and plead. She thinks it over for a couple minutes. Then her mood completely changes. She smiles at me. It's the smile I adore so much. It's one of the cutest smiles I've ever seen. The one she has on her face when she is happy, and that's all I wanted. She squeezes my hand, which sends tingles through my arm. I wouldn't care as much if she said yes or no. Her happiness is what's important.

"I will give you a chance," She tells me as I grin. "On one condition." My grin shrinks. She holds my jacket tightly. "I get to wear your jacket." I laugh a little. Then I notice movement in the corner of my eye. Mr. Hughes has gotten up and is starting to walk down to the front. I look back at Emily, and kiss her lips gently, as if they were to shatter if I pressed to hard. She kissed back. I pull back slowly. Mr. Hughes gets ever so closer. Our lips finally part and I kiss her hand.

"You most definitely get to wear my jacket." I sneak back out just as Mr. Hughes gets to Emily's row. He looks at her suspiciously. Luckily, he can't tell that she didn't come in with my jacket on, so he just moves on. I walk out the door, but not before I look back at Emily. The grin on my face is only what I can describe as pure bliss. I walk back to the library, thinking of the challenges to come. Again, I push such thoughts aside. All that matters is I can finally be with Emily. I stride down the hallways with a slight sense of accomplishment.

After the end of fifth period, I walk down to Emily's locker. Then I see my hoodie and know it's her. I know for a fact because I don't know anybody else that could look so sexy in a dark green snowboarding jacket. I walk up behind her and press the spot on her back that always makes her stand on her toes and giggle a little bit. It's so cute. She spins around and realizes it's me. Her sweet smile is still on her face. She gets on her toes and kisses my cheek, which makes chills run down my spine, good chills. She turns back to her locker and puts her book in, then closes the door. She turns back around and takes both of my hands and pulls me down a little bit. I never really realized how short she was till now. Our lips meet and it sends that same chill, through my entire body. Then I feel someone creeping up behind me. I squeeze Emily's hand and we pull apart, and I turn around. There is my best friend, Ian Brodhage, about to interrupt us. He looks around like he didn't do anything. Then looks back at Emily and I. "Oh, hey." He began, sarcastically. "I didn't see you guys there." I shake my head at him. "Hey Emily."

"Hi, Ian." She answers. "We should probably get to lunch." I nod, as does Ian. So we start walking to the cafeteria.

"So..." Ian begins. "You two are going out now?" I nod. "Cool." he replies. We walk into the lunchroom, and sit down at our table. Caitlyn, Mikey, Josh, and Austin are talking about the game last night. "See you later," he tells me, then walks to his own table. Emily and I sit down next to Caitlyn, Emily being by Caitlyn. They start talking about something that I consider unimportant. So I tune the conversation out. I look around the lunchroom and see Dalton McDaniel. Then I remember freshman year, Dalton always sat at the table Kalee and I were at. I look for her and find her sitting beside Caitlin. I really need answers. I turn to Emily and squeeze her hand.

"I'll be right back." She gets a little sad. "I promise." I give her a kiss and get up. I walk over to Dalton's table and sit down next to him. Everyone at the table looks shocked, but Kalee looks like she's panicking. "Hey,Dalton." I turn my attention away from Kalee. "I need to borrow Kalee for a couple minutes." Now everyone is confused, and shocked. Kalee really is panicking. I glare at her. Dalton silently looks at her with a questioning look. She hesitates, then nods.
