Chapter 29
The day after she left (and the day Sam Confronted Marissa and Jessica)
Justin POV
Where is Jessica?
I didn’t see her at all today at school, and after that little confrontation with that Sam , Sammy, Samantha or what ever her that girls name is and Marissa I’ve felt like something’s happened to her or something’s going on.. Marissa has sensed it too, even Alex, although she might be quiet you can tell how uneasy she is at the moment.
I’ve tried texting her and calling her but she hasn’t picked up, or replied back.
After school we decided to call her house and Tom answered, which was really unusual considering he is usually at culinary school at this time.
“hello? Riveras residence.” he answered.
“hello? Tom?” I asked
“yes, who is calling?” he asked. That’s odd my number should be programmed into the system.
“umm… it’s Justin, I was wondering if I could speak to Jessica?” I asked him.
I heard a silence on the other end of the phone before I heard a sigh.
“s-she’s not with you? “ he asked, nervously but with a tired feeling at the end.
“no, I haven’t seen her since yesterday and neither has Marissa or Alex. Tom What’s going on? Where’s Jessica? And why aren’t you at school?” I asked worried. I knew something was going on.
I once again heard silence and then heard talking in the back ground, then I heard a person yell, which sounded a lot like Eric.
“hello? Justin? “ I heard Eric ask me on the phone now. He must have taken it from Tom.
“What up bro? What’s going on? Where is Jess?” I asked, him with a worried yet calm tone, I can never disrespect him considering he is the one who is in charge of the gang, and rules are rules, disobey the leader, you will be punished, but you don’t know what it will be till you get it.
“Dude! I though she might have been with you? Or Marissa , even Alex! Tom has been up all night trying to keep me and Jason from killing each other!
Man, now that you tell me no one has seen her, you just made this whole thing worse! Jason is probably blaming himself for everything and freaking out, when its both of our faults!
Man….. J-Just get over here as soon as you can!” I heard him yell before I began hearing sobbing on the other end on the phone.
I turned to Marissa, whom was sitting in the passenger seat and saw that she in fact heard the conversation and she had a look of anxiety and worry on her face, as I think mirrored mine as well.
I hung up the phone and switched gears and punched the cars pedal as far as it would go and raced to Jessica’s house as fast as I could.
The only thing I could think of the entire time I race to her house was …… ‘where is she and why?’
