Chapter 18
I hit the ground hard. I stood up and tried to calm Casper.he seemed fine but just to be safe i walked next to him the whole way back. When we got back i checked his legs. Sure enough he had a nasty gash. I called the vet who rushed out. It took tweleve stitches to sew his shoulder up. It was nothing serious. But to be safe the vet gave him a does of antibiotics.
I decided to stay at the barn that night.
I woke up to Casper kicking the crapp out of his stall. His shoulder was swollon and hot. Icalled the vet again.
she advised that i meet her at the clinic so she could get a better look at him.
I called Matt in tears.
"Matt can you bring your truck to farm? I need to take Casper in right now." I sobbed
" Ill be right there. Get the trailer ready."
"ok thanks"
"no problem."
Matt arrived and we hooked up the trailer.
I went to lead casper into the trailer but he refused to move.
After some coaxing he limped in to the trailer.
AN HOUR LATER
We sat in the waiting room while the vet check casper.
She came out looking defeated.
" it seems that casper severed a muscle in his shoulder. I can fix it bht there are no gaurentees it will work."
"fix him. At least try." I cried.
One Week Later
I stroke caspers silky coat as i lead him i circles on the grass. He munched happily. The surbery was a success. It would take awhile but he would recover. I lead him to hi stall and closed the.door behind him.
"I have to go home now. I be back soon okay?"
I got home an hour later. I was starving. Food! My stomache demanded. Fine i guess its time for dinner.
