She sits in her room crying

Her parents have gave up on trying

She tries to act strong for her little sister

Her perfect family picture now has a blister

She trys to hold her head high

and she's trying so hard not to cry

No amount of noise could drown out the shouting

A happy ending right now is very doubting

She looks over to her sister who looks so afraid

They both feel so betrayed

Their parents were supposed to always be there for them

But now their fights just casue mayhem

They used to be so in love

Now their love has died like a sad, lonely dove

Her parents used to do everything together

Now the world around her is coming a blur

She's so angry at God for what he's done

She feels like she can turn to no one

She just wants things to go back to the way they used to be

And that is her one and only plea

She doesn't really know what to do

Or even how to get through

She's just so tired of the pain

She just wants it all to go away

She wants everything to go back to the way it was before

But her thoughts are drown out by the slamming of doors

The fighting she would surely never forget

And a few seconds later her mom came in clearly upset

She said they were going to take a break

To give each other some much-needed space

They needed time for their hearts to repair

And that couldn't happen with them both being there

She said it was only temporarily and not for long

And that she was so sorry things had to go wrong

Then she walked out of the room sobbing

Leaving the girls with heads throbbing

They tried to make sense of it all

The realization made them both bawl

The hurt they felt inside cut down deep

As they both cried themselves to sleep
