** I hope I changed the last chapter for you enough! I'm hoping to change this one a lot too. Thank you all very much for reading!!!!!! I know you all know what Jace looks like... but God. Does anyone else faint when they hear Alex's name? I missed writing Izzy and Jace together sooooooo much. I'm on a role tonight!

Chief James POV

My heart soared as the red Mercedes peeled out onto the highway. There they were right in front of us. My daughter just feet from me, I held back the tears that threatened to gush. She was there and soon would be back with me. The shiny new car didn’t slow at the road block. The driver maneuvered the car through a gap in the ranks. Halfway through the car turned sharply suddenly and it began a death roll toward the river bank. It slid the last ten feet and disappeared.

Izzy’s POV

I saw the hole in the forces, so did Mr. Newman. Before any of us could argue he floored it. I couldn’t help but scream, I knew this would end badly. Without thinking I reached out and choked Mr. Newman. He yanked the steering wheel hard to the left and the car jerked, crashing into a cruiser. It was like a horrible roller coaster as the car flipped, and flipped.

I slipped off Mark’s lap and rolled with the car. The windows and windshield shattered. Tiny bits of glass showered us. The car started to skid along the road on its roof. Sparks filled the air. The roof, which I was lying on, was hot beneath my skin.

Then I felt the drop. The ground suddenly disappeared and we were plunging. I couldn’t even scream. The air was trapped in my lungs. I waited for the crunch of metal against the ground and death. A heavy splash sounded instead. We had landed in the river.

The current was quick and already was pushing us along with the car as water began to drag the car under. Mr. Newman released his white knuckle grip on the steering wheel.

“Get out,” He screamed. Jace grabbed my hand. I shrieked in agony. My hand was covered in blood and his touch made the wound scream in agony. Jace pulled me with him anyway, out of the car window and into the river. The car began to sink quickly. Mark barely made it out before it was completely under water. Too bad he wasn’t slower.

“Don’t let them go anywhere!” Mr. Newman shrieked over the roar of the water. The current was moving so fast that we had no choice but to follow it. It tore us swiftly downstream and away from the wreck. I clung to Jace's arm as we attempted to stay above the water. Mark and Jake grabbed us as best they could. Mr. Newman struggled to stay above water.

He looked back over his shoulder. The police force, including my father, stood at the top of the bank. They didn’t see us. All I wanted to do was scream and wave my arms like a maniac, but I couldn't because Mr. Newman said something.

“Down,” Mr. Newman ordered. I didn’t understand until Mark and Jake pulled us under water. My lungs quickly filled with water. I choked, swallowing more water. My hand was throbbing. My lungs ached for air. My arms and legs stung as the water washed through the cuts on them. I let the pain over take me. The world went black and the sound disappeared.

“You idiots! Why didn’t you watch her? Why didn’t you make sure she was ok?” Mr. Newman was shouting at the top of his lungs. My head ached horribly. My body ached not only from the accident but from Mark too. I moaned Jace's name. It earned a soft thud beside me, I assumed Jace kneeling beside me, and a smart ass comment from Mark.

“Izzy,” Jace whispered. He sounded relieved. I opened my eyes slowly. We were in a dirty nasty cabin.

The roof was high and cobwebs were strung between the beams. The only light came from a fireplace. I looked at Jace. His blond hair was still damp and in disarray. Blood and dirt streaked across his face. There was a cut above his eye. Tiny spider web cuts ran across his cheeks and neck, probably from the glass.
