I stood in the airport, shifting my weight from the balls of my feet to the heels and craning my neck to see the crowd of people making their way off of the aeroplane. I live in Beverly Hills, LA. A lot of people think that means I am automatically a bitch, who is beautiful and has all the money in the world; the girl who has everything. Well, I certainly do have a lot of money. MY father is a 'famous Hollywood director' and my mother was a model in her younger years. They fell in love when my mother turned actress and he was just starting out as a director, working on minor films. They married after seeing each other for five years and are still totally gooey eyed for each other, which I guess is kind of sweet. The public seem to think so seeing as they were voted the 'cutest couple of 2008'. They had a whole feature article done on them in Vogue and of course, I was featured in some of the photos and asked for my opinion on my parent's relationship. It was all very... I don't know, over rated? I am Emi-Sophia Carlyle and I am the daughter and only child of Richard and Eva Carlyle. Together, our family is worth forty-five million dollars. I have a huge house, with grounds, a pool, tennis courts and my room is stunning with its high ceilings and the closet any girl would kill for. My car is a vintage midnight blue, convertible Mustang. Some may call me beautiful and it may appear that I have it all, but I'm not a bitch. But all these things are the things I don't need. I don't need all those expensive designer clothes, I certainly do not need a room and closet as big as mine are and I don't need that beautiful car. Right now the thing I needed was walking off the plane in white cut off at the knee trousers and a baby pink Ralph Lauren polo, that I got for him. That thing was my best friend, Luke Brody Valentine; my best friend. I pushed my way through to the front of the crowd, slipping slightly on the slippery floor in my worn out flip flops. I didn't stop sprinting until I got to the front. I ducked under the black belt separating us from them and launched my self at Luke.

"LUKEY!" I screamed into his neck, wrapping my arms round him and my legs causing him drop his duffle and tuck his arms under my legs to support me. I felt like I was going to cry. Scratch that, I was crying. I mean, what kind of best friend goes on vacation for a month and doesn't have any contact with his best friend stuck at home? To be fair to him he was in some shack on stilts in the Amazon, living with an ancient tribe.

"Hey Kiddo!" Luke has an obsession with calling me kiddo. He is only a year older than me and he's called me it since I was six and he was seven when we first met.

"Did you miss me?" He asked, whilst putting me down on the floor and looking me up and down.

"Is the Pope catholic?" I replied grinning like a maniac. He continued to look me up and down and then put both his hands on my shoulders and put his face a couple of centimetres away from mine.

"Err, Luke? Do you mind telling me what you're doing?" I said giggling. He tucked a loose strand of my blonde hair behind my ear and smiled.

"You've grown and somehow your face looks... different." I smiled uncertainly. "I mean different in a good way, Kiddo, don't worry. Did you tan while I was away or something? I mean something is seriously different."

"Well I've been outside reading a lot, in the pool, playing tennis and just you know hanging out with the girls on the beach. That could be why." I smiled. "You seem very tan! Did you have a good time? No insect or snake bites I hope."

"Why thank you, and thankfully no snake or insect bites." He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and we started walking lazily behind his family who had got fed up of waiting for us to move. His older brother by two years turned back tusked at us.

"And you say you two are 'just friends'. Why lie to me little bro?" Leon said, adopting a hurt sounding tone.

"It's true. Eat me." Luke replied sticking up two fingers at his brother. I laughed. I loved how I would do anything to have a sibling to keep me company, I would love an older brother, but those who have them can't stand them.
