"Melanie wake up! You don't want to be late for school, it's your last week!" My mum called from downstairs.

I shot up in bed. It was finally my last week of school, only 4 days until graduation then I would never go to school again. Or at least until I figured out what I wanted to do with my life.

"I'm up mum!" I shouted in reply.

As I rolled out if bed I imagined how I would feel after graduation. Probably no different. I mean I assumed that after I passed my A-Levels I would feel like I could rule the world, instead felt no different than I had the day before.

I got dressed and thought about how I would spend my birthday. My birthday was 2 1/2 weeks after school let out and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I was going to turn 19.

"Are you almost ready?" My mum called again.

"Yes mum." I groaned.

Waking up early was something I would not miss I thought to myself as I finished getting ready.

When I got downstairs my mum was talking in the phone.

"Oh perfect...Yes...Ok can't wait to see you then. Love you."

"Who was that?" I asked while grabbing a piece of bread.

"I was talking to your dad. He was able to get a flight and is coming home today in time for the graduation."

My mum was making a big deal out of my graduation. I was super excited about it too but I must admit she was more excited than I was. She went to great lengths to be sure everyone was going to attend. The only person I was truly excited about because they were attending was my brother's best friend Nathan Sykes.

Ever since I had met Nathan when I was 13 I fancied him. It's sounds pathetic but it's true. He was always coming over to the house and I never got tired of seeing him. I wasn't one of those girls who hated being around their brother's friends, I loved it. Then when he joined The Wanted I began to like him even more.I mean what girl doesn't like a boy who can sing and play piano. To be honest part of me has always wondered if he fancied me back but didn't want to make a move on account in my brother.

"Nathan got home today too." My mom commented while pouring some tea."Karen phone me yesterday and said he was flying in today."

When Nathan and my brother, Eric, became best friends my mum and Karen met and soon they became best friends. In turn Jess and I became really close friends.

"Oh well maybe I'll see him later then."I said cooly,"Jess was going to help Alicia and I find graduation dresses today."

My mum just nodded before waltzing into the living room to watch tv. She was still on cloud nine because my dad was returning home today, I didn't blame her. I missed him terribly to. My dad's job rarely makes him go out of the country but when it does it's always for 1-2 weeks. Not seeing him for that long was distressing, my mum was still very much in love with my dad, they still had that spark. So whenever my dad was away my mum always looked very helpless and it made me sad to see her in such a bad state.

"I'm leaving, I'll call you when I get out of school to let you know where we're going."I announced while grabbing my bags and starting towards the door.

I could not wait for school to start and end. I was about to join my mum on cloud nine because after school I would be able to see Nathan. I drove to school with the thought of him never leaving my mind. Today was going to be a good day.
