You left us so quickly,

I don't quite know what to say.

But I know you won't hold it against me,

You'd tell me to do it in my own way.

There's an empty place in our hearts,

Like a void it's dark and still.

I don't mean to make you worried,

I wish you nothing but good will.

So I decided to make something,

Something of the empty place inside.

You always taught us how to make something of nothing,

And I hope it would fill you with pride.

I didn't like the feeling of emptiness,

So I filled the void with sand.

Next, I created a vast ocean,

So it would curl up to the land.

Then I imagined a farm next to the sea,

Gardenias, bright white and green.

Then I fashioned a llama out of the clouds,

Just to complete the scene.

Some days are harder than others,

When I know the world is vastly unfair.

So I stop myself and I daydream,

And then I can see you there.

Wind flowing through your hair,

Playing with Gracie in the sand.

Throwing George into the ocean while laughing,

Even the waves are at your command.

We miss you so very much,

We weren't at all ready for you to go,

There's so many lessons you had to teach us,

So much more we need to know.

But I have built a place for you in my heart,

A place where the corgis can roam.

We'll be late meeting you there,

But we know you'll welcome us home.
