Nial POV

"I can't believe how stupid you are!" Talia rolled her eyes at me, squeezing her claws into my wrist as she dragged me towards the basement.

"Don't make me go back down there." I begged, looking down at the red marks around my wrists where they had attached the cuffs too. I could still feel the burning in my ankles from the chains they wrapped around them, and the claustrophobia seeping in as they locked me into an ice box. I screamed down there for hours, watching in horror as my body shifted. I could feel every single bone in my body begin to crack as claws ripped through my skin and protruded through my nails.

"Do what she says." Troy demanded, shoving me forwards as Talia kicked open the basement door.

Those were the things they had done to me when I was changing, for my own protection, but mostly theirs, because first-shifters like me are unpredictable and hard to control. We have to be taught how to channel our anger and control shifting between human and wolf form. Otherwise we might just end up killing everything in sight.

But she made the pain go away.   Erica made me forget about all the anger bottled up inside me. She made me forget about my thirst for power, for Enchantress blood. She made the wolf inside me easier to control.

I stumbled down the basement steps my body tensing as the single light that hung from the ceiling flickered to life, that single light was the only thing that kept the ice box from complete darkness; saving my sanity as I was trapped down here. Troy slammed the door closed  as he and Talia followed behind me. "You really did it this time, Nial." Troy started to clap slowly, as he leaned against the un-finished wall. Talia's shoes clicked against the cement floor as she circled around me.

"We're not always going to be able to protect you from Nate." Talia reminded me, worry creasing over her forehead. Ever since our parents died that night in the forest where they killed off most of the Enchantress  her and Troy have always been overprotective of me. But not that I was their equal, a full-fledged wolf, they could no longer look down to me as their baby brother.

"I know." I muttered, keeping my head down. I hated looking her in the eyes, seeing those black balls of darkness stare into my soul. It just reminded me of what Erica saw when she looked at me.

"I warned you not to get involved with that girl." Talia scowled.

"She has a name." I clenched my hands into fists.

"See what I mean, Nial?" She shouted at me, taking deep breaths to calm herself down. "You weren't supposed to get emotionally attached to her, you were supposed to get the amulet!"

"You should've let me kill her when I had the chance." Troy muttered.

My eyes darkened, I charged for him wrapping my hands around his neck and plunging my claws into his skin. "You won't lay a single claw on her." I threatened, banging his head against the plywood protruding from the wall.

Troy chuckled softly, kicking me up into the air causing me to skid backwards into the wall slamming my head and creating a large hole. "You may be full-fledged now, but I'm still stronger." He smirked, cracking his knuckles.

My vision blurred as the pain in my head increased, I climbed to my feet wobblying slightly. "She'll give me the amulet." I assured them. "We just have to wait one more day." I reminded them, hoping inside that Erica would wise-up and do what I told her to.
