A week passed after that phone call, and Sarah was finally healed and moving around with ease again. Ezra spent a lot of time playing cards with her during the day. Sean spent the evenings talking to her about their future children, what they might look like, and what their names should be. Ethan spent his nights keeping her awake.

By the end of that week, Sean, Ezra, and Ethan were all ready to go home. Sarah was just ready to sleep!

Ezra called to the palace on the eighth day, and was told that they could come back, but they had to be careful. There were still usurpers to the true crown hiding all over the palace, and they would need to use caution until they were found.

Ezra began packing their bags once he was off of the phone, and Sean pulled Ethan off to the side. Sean cleared his throat before beginning.

"We leave at four, so tonight, take her out. You two go out and have a good time."

"Okay, why?" Ethan asked, confused by his brother's odd request.

"Because when we get back, we may have to send her into hiding. I can't deal with you climbing the walls, so tonight, you just worry about her. I have other things to deal with," Sean explained.

"If it isn't safe to go back, then why are we going back?"

"Because the longer the throne stays empty, the more likely someone else is going to fancy themselves king for a day. Or longer," Sean said, his face tightened with stress.

"Alright, well. What can I do?" Ethan asked, offering to take some of his brother's burden.

"Just keep Sarah out of the way, and if it's bad when we get back, see to it that she disappears until it is safe again."

"Alright. If you need me to do anything else-"

"When we get back, I want to find dad. I know he's not dead, but Cameron definitely did something with him. We have to find him, Ethan!"

"I'm on it. I'll start looking when we touch ground," Ethan said without a moment's hesitation. He'd been feeling exactly the same way!

"Well, for tonight, just do what I said. Make it count, because this may be the last chance you two get for a while," Sean said, patting his brother on the back.

Ethan searched his brother's face and mind, trying to figure out why he was telling him this when they were so close to going home. He managed to get nothing more than a feeling of unknown tension. Sean had a bad feeling about something, he just didn't know what was causing it.

Ethan thought about this for a while, but he ended up giving in to his brother's demand. He ended up taking Sarah out, and he more than made it count!.

When it was time to leave, Ethan blazed a trail of kisses up her back and to her neck, nibbling her ear until she stirred.

"What, baby?" Sarah asked, half asleep.

Ethan smiled at the pet name and said, "It's time to get up. We'll be leaving soon."

She grumbled a bit, but she got up and got dressed. Ethan told her how cute her yawns were every time she would stifle one. She rolled her eyes as she put on her shoes.

They practically ran when they were boarding the plane. Everyone was more than ready to go back! The plane soared through the air and none of them could wait for it to land!

Ethan chose to pass his time talking to Sarah. And before they landed, he decided to broach a subject that he'd spent a lot of time thinking about.

"Can I ask you something serious? And I'm not trying to be insensitive about asking this, so please don't think too badly about me," Ethan said, suddenly feeling like an ass for even thinking about asking!
