Yeah, I know we said we wouldn't update for a while, but I was bored and at home sick, so I'm typing...   Enjoy! comment! vote!

(11 years later...)

*BEEP*

Groan.

*BEEP*

Thump.

I looked to my right and saw my purple carpet. Ugh, I had fallen off the bed again. I really needed to stop tossing when I slept. I stood up and turned off my alarm clock. I made my bed and hopped in the shower. When I got out, I wrapped myself in a towel and brushed my hair.

"Naomi!!!" my mom screamed. "You're going to be late!!!"

Glancing at the clock, I sprinted to my room and threw on whatever I grabbed first. I then skipped downstairs, and grabbed a chocolate Pop-Tart. Healthy, I know.

"Bye, Mom!" I yell, before steping into the mute sunrise. I double checked my bag to make sure I had my pepper spray. Better safe then sorry.

About fifteen minutes later, I got to my highschool. I finished up my Pop-Tart, and threw the wrapper in the trash. I got to my locker and opened it, in no hurry to get to gym. A group of girls, the popular, snotty kind, walked by my locker, giggling.

"Did you hear about the new guy?" one giggled.

"Yeah," the second one squealed. "I hear he's SOOOOO HOT!"

"I hope he's in some of my classes." the third sighed.

I rolled my eyes and decided I'd stalled enough. I trudged to the girls locker room and changed. When I had my hideous uniform on, I went to the gym and started walking. I looked around and realized I was the only girl walking; all the others were in a group giggling and pointing to a boy talking to the teacher. I realized that he must be the new boy.

I walked over to a corner and sat down to stretch. Eventually the boy stopped talking to the teacher and started stretching.

Ha, I thought. He has to run the mile in his regular clothes, I smiled in my mind.

I took a satisfied glance at him, even though I really didn't know why I hated him. He must've felt my glance and looked over at me. I was met with familar icy blue eyes. My smile dropped.

But... it couldn't be. That was years ago. How is this possible?! I panicked.

I went into total freak-out mode and ran into the locker room and went into a stall.

Oh, God, oh, God, oh, God. I'm going freaking insane! Okay, Naomi, get a grip. Calm down. It can't possibly be Drake, I tried to reassure myself.

Ever since that night, every once in a while, I'd been haunted by terrifying nightmares of Drake and a violent black dragon. The dragon was trying to kill me, while Drake was trying to stop it. I always woke up before I died. But recently in the dream, Drake was telling the dragon to kill me.

It couldn't be him, it's not him, and I'm just freaking out for no reason, I tried to tell myself. They just have similar eyes, that doesn't mean it has to be him.

I recollected myself and walked back to the gym. I made it through the gym door just in time to hear the gym teachers go on about the mile run and safety while running.

When we got out to the track, we all lined up at the start.

"And... GO!" the teacher yelled.

I sprinted forward, breathing evenly and deep. I was the top mile runner in school; I always got seven minutes or sometimes under. I laughed as I saw some people were already walking. But then I saw a flash of silvery blonde hair. Nuh, uh.  No way was he beating me.

The-maybe-Drake-guy sped past me and finished the mile at 5:05. I finished at 6:45. Panting, I took deep breaths, and got a drink. Since the first few were the favored of the teachers, we got to change and leave early.

Once I had my clothes on, I read a book. Then the rest of my day took on a dream-like quality. I didn't remember much of what I learned, and soon I was walking home.

"Hey," a voice I didn't know said, and tapped my shoulder.

I screamed and pepper sprayed him. I heard a "What the...?" before I took off towards home.
