Romero mansion was on fire.

Not in the literal sense, but the actions of those who resided inside the huge area was enough to tell that something––or someone––had set the Romeros' lives on flame. One can nearly see the anger and a small amount of underlying fear seeping through each pore of those tall, furnished walls.

The Romeros were not even subtle about hiding their actions.

Those occasional shouts and a non-stop string of curses boomed across the posh mansion, startling the emotionless guards outside the estate. They, too, were scared. However, their fear was directed to their leaders, the ruthless souls of the mafia world. None dared to cross their paths, neither in legal front, nor in mafia, or underworld.

Except for that hidden someone.

"I don't give two fucks about that stupid piece of investigation, Alonzo! I want a lead in this case now. We cannot afford sitting here and burn our energies on a loophole of mysteries. Find a starting point no matter how much it cost." Upon seeing that momentary fear in Alonzo's eyes and the tense shoulders of the other two romero brothers, it was evident that the former leader, Alejandro Garcia Romero, still had the upper hand and his presence alone was enough to turn a healthy man white as a ghost.

He had just stepped his foot into the house, an hour ago, and the news of returning of the former boss from Spain had already spread among alliances and rivals like a bushfire. After all, there were blue moon moments only when Alejandro left his homeland, Spain. One could say that he only came to London when the most powerful mafia was being toyed. And this time, it was the lives of their people that was being played with.

Five people had been brutally murdered in their homes mysteriously and the most disturbing part for Romeros was that even their expert hackers and investigators failed to find anything that could've given them a lead. All they had was a circle of mysteries and suspicions.

A crossfire.

However, the situation was not that bad initially.

It all started with the murder of Joseph, the senior family driver, who had been killed in his small villa five weeks ago. No traces, no evidence were found. It was as if something otherworldly was involved in Joseph's murder.

The family was getting over their oldest driver's death when they found a bloodied coffin on their doorstep, a week later, with their senior messenger Zach's body in it. How and where was he murdered, remained a mystery to date.

Before anyone could have pulled themselves together, the Romeros' had to endure a greater shock when their senior legal front manager, Jaxon was found in his penthouse, murdered and cold. The death of their leading manager surely took a financial toll on Romeros, even if it was only a minuscule.

Without giving them the time to pull back their business chain on track, they found the senior house servant, Maria, dead in her home. This was the moment when the chaos started.
