AMORA'S THIRD PERSON POV

𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐍 the steps of her apartment, lost in the rhythm of her music, her closed eyes attuned to the melody. She anticipated her sister Lucia's arrival, ready for their trip to the dance studio.

Jolted from her daydream, Amora felt her sister's sharp tap on her head, snapping her back to reality. She looked up, swatting away Lucia's hand as she lowered her headphones around her neck. Frowning with both anger and annoyance, she confronted Lucia, "Seriously? What was that for?!"

As Amora rose to her feet, she slung her dance bag over her shoulder and queried Lucia. Laughing, Lucia responded, "Because I tried calling for you when I was getting close and you weren't answering." They strolled down the block towards the dance studio. "Even when I was right in front of you, calling your name, you couldn't hear me over those headphones!" Amora heard her sister remark.

Rolling her eyes once more, she muttered, "Uh huh, whatever," before stowing her headphones in her bag. "Hey, head to the bodega and grab us some food. I'll meet you at the studio," her sister instructed. "Anything specific?" she shouted back, already crossing the street toward the studio.

"Nah not really!" Lucia yelled in response before turning away from her sister. Amora sighed and noticed Vanessa exiting the bodega. A moment later, she spotted Benny leaving the store across the street. Amora then entered the bodega, the bell chiming as she stepped inside. Feeling weary from carrying her bag, she tossed it into a corner.

"Hey Amora," Usnavi called out, prompting her to turn towards him with a smile. "Yo, what's up?" she replied, waving. Sonny stood beside him, returning her smile. Usnavi stepped around the counter and approached her as she reached for two drinks, one for herself and one for Lucia. She turned to Sonny, saying, "Oh, hey," as she passed him, with Sonny quickly following suit.

"Hey, uhm, are you... going to the protest? You know, the one I told you about..." the boy asked nervously, trying not to stutter like he did last time.

It was evident to everyone in the Barrio that Sonny had feelings for Amora, although she remained oblivious to it. Smiling at him, the Peruvian girl nodded as she picked up a few more snacks. "Yeah, I'll see you there, right?" she asked, tilting her head as she looked up at him. Glancing away momentarily, she made her way to the counter to pay for the items.
