NOTE: This story is currently on hold while I try to focus on my ongoing series, The Fates. Though The Will is written to completion—at least a first draft of it—for now, I won't be taking the time to revisit the story and upload new episodes to Wattpad. My life unfortunately leaves me with very little free time, and I am much more serious and passionate about The Fates at present, so I would rather spend my limited time working on that series (especially since it has many more active readers and followers hoping for updates). I just wanted to let you all know, and I do hope you understand. Thank you! :)

Hello! Just a friendly note from me, to preface everything :)

The Will is the fruit of four months of writing, and an entire lifetime of thinking, dreaming, and imagining. I completed it in January 2012, but that was only the beginning of the journey. Today, I am so glad to be sharing this story with you, and I am so incredibly grateful for everyone who steps into the world that I've created.

The finished novel is ~800 pages, ~235,000 words, and comes in 3 books and 60 episodes in total. So far, I have posted the first quarter of the novel. There are still 45 more episodes, and I would love to share these with you all as well, if and when there is demand. Till then, happy reading :)  welcome to Glorion and the world of The Will...

*A note on structure: the episodes alternate among three millennia according to an A-B-C-B pattern. Within each millennium, the episodes come in chronological order.*

Full-length Synopsis, for whoever may be interested:

In the distant future, on a faraway globe, humankind has been engineered to the point of ethical perfection. But perfect virtue comes at a price: vulnerability to a vicious moral virus. This is the story of a war of good and evil, in a world in which the lines between the two are constantly shifting.

A thousand years hence, a man has a vision. He discovers a planet akin to our own, a clean slate on which to remake humanity. Over many centuries, his colleagues engineer an ethically perfect population, to be transported to the distant globe of Glorion to prosper in perpetual peace. This is the plan.

A thousand years thence, the once pristine planet has been plunged into utter chaos, from which a dark, despotic empire rises to power. The plan has gone terribly wrong. But where? And how?

A thousand years thence, Eldor is heir to the empire of Zoll Zora. At his father’s command, he leads an army overseas to conquer new lands. He and his men find a realm of perfectly virtuous people. Some hearts change; others are set on conquest. In the war that ensues, a virulent poison from a mysterious isle figures as the strongest weapon, infecting pure souls with contagious vice. To overcome this evil, Eldor—with his lovers and his brothers, his friends and his foes—must navigate the battlefields of Glorion as well as the far bloodier battlefields of the human soul.

The Will alternates among three millennia to tell the epic tale of a vision of human perfection—of how this vision comes to life, comes to ruin, and never quite comes to an end. It calls into question the very heart of humanity: our moral character, and to what extent this lies under our control. It explores virtue and vice not only as potions and poisons, but also as products of nature and nurture... inviting you to ask whether this world is truly any different from our own.
